I'm going over a few public school offers in (relatively) rural areas. Does anyone think there is a chance that I may get placed in an apartment that lacks high speed internet options? I know there are PC Bangs all over the place but I'll definetly need high speed online at home. Any ideas?

In the last couple years I have never been to anywhere that did not have the option of broadband internet of one kind or another (at least DSL or cable) and a selection of at least 2 providers.

There may be some places without broadband but I have no idea where they might be (except perhaps some small islets off the south coast). I don't think dial-up is even an option here anymore.

According to my provider, KT, my broadband internet is slower because I live a ten minute walk from the centre of my small town. If my apartment was downtown, it'd be faster. It's the first time I've heard an excuse like that before, but that's what they say.

no it's straight up. Depends on what the distance is from your modem to the nearest relay station. Rural areas obviously have greater distances as they have less relay stations. In Seoul, you aren't going to notice it. I had the same problem in Japan because i was over a km from the nearest one. Still didn't really worry me though.
