| The only way I've heard to get into North Korea is through China. I'd love to visit, especially Kaesong since my father-in-law was born there. |

There are a couple of tour companies that I know doing NK trips.
One is adventurekorea.com and costs 400,000 won for a weekend.
The other is koryotours.com which I think is runned by the NK gov. The trips look interesting, but cost a fortune, 1,700 EUROs a week ($2000) plus air ticket to China (not included) Pretty outrageous really.
You have to ask yourself how badly do you want to go? |

Yeah, but that's the one to the mountain. Kaesong is a new trip to a North Korean city. |

It's about as far away from Seoul as Suwon is. I really want to see this city.

Me too. It's about as far away as Pyeongtaek is though, about twice that of Suwon. One of my Ido friends went there as a journalist last week and showed us a few hundred pictures he took while he was there. |

| So except for the mountain trip there is no other tours unless you go through China. Is that correct? |

No, there is now - or will be soon - a bus from Seoul that will take you to Kaesong. It's a deal related to the new co-operative businesses nearby. |

| I think a trip to Kaesong would be amazing. Wasn't it the capital of Koryo? Anyways, Kaesong is the second or third largest city in the North, it was originally supposed to be part of the South, and it's very close to Seoul. I think it would be really cool to go there. I'd place good money that if there was ever some sort of uprising in North Korea, it would start in Kaesong. |

That sounds interesting, but will tourists be able to go or will you have to have specific business there. Like I said, I'm curous since my father-in-law was born there. |

| An interesting tid-bit. Kaesong was the only major centre to change hands after the Korean war. As well, on a clear day, you can see Kaesong from Munsan (I think this is the mountains name) in Paju. |
