I'm from Dublin also! I'll try and find out for you but I don't know at the moment. I haven't seen any sheep here...
I'm curious though...what has a postgrad in textiles got to do with knitting? Surely knitting is easy? |

its fashion design and textiles. basically have to produce clothes designed and made personally, i'm an avid knitter so i decided to stick with that for the course. i have been doing the course as a night class for about 6 months now (because im in my final year of a BA in History) to cope with study stuff and as general procrastination. i will hopefully get the course finished before i go, but just in case i dont i need to know if i can get wool there.
and again for general procrastination when i get there, i like to have knitting needles in my hands!!! |

You shouldn't have any trouble finding the things you need. There is a local yarn store a few blocks away from where I live and I have seen others in my outings into Seoul. There is also a huge fabric market at Dongdaemun. I haven't really looked for yarn there but I have seen it. I think that the basement or first floor is mainly yarn though I have seen yarn shops on the fifth floor with all the beads and such. If you are into sewing at all I think that you will love the fabric market as much as I do. I graduated from a fiber department a few months before coming to Korea. The only thing that you might have trouble with is figuring out the fiber content of things. I haven't managed to learn the Korean words for things like cotton, wool, acrylic, etc., so I run into a little trouble every so often when I want a specific thing but mostly I have been just looking for awesome fabric to stock up on instead of something for a specific purpose. Once you get here I can give you directions to the market which is increadibly easy to find. |

With that educational background then, maybe you can answer this question:
Does it do any good to cast purls before swine? |
