Nope. Drop it off in the morning, and you can pick it up the next morning. Drop it off in the afternoon, and you can pick it up the next afternoon. |

Standard procedure means they won't give it to you the same day. There's always a chance you can convince them to give it to you the same day if you drop it off to them first thing in the morning, but that'd be an exception to the rule. You may get lucky, but you'll have to be very lucky to get lucky. |

.... and you'd probably have to pay more for it on the off chance that you did get really, really lucky. It would be much easier and cheaper to work on changing your flight.
Most people go there with the visa issuance number. You are just like 99% of the other visa applicants. The chances of them making an exception because someone couldn't arrange flight arrangements well are practically nil. Bureaucracy, what can you expect. |

I got mine in one day. It is possible.
But when I went I didn't realise that the next three days were a Japanese public holiday. They took pity on my stupidity and gave it to me in two hours.
They did tell me warn others to not to do the same thing.
So...If you want your visa in one day make sure you go before a big public holiday. |
