Im not saying he did question anything. What I said was that he brough it up. For the bazillionth time. There comes a time when you tell the same joke over and over again, that not only does it lose the humor it becomes annoying. Hey, I wouldnt care much if Plame was mentioned in passing, but the whole damn thing is about Plame.

And how is the Plame issue a dead issue? It is not. Those responsible have not yet been punished. IF and when impeachment begins, the Plame scandal will be an important part of it.

Your reasoning is absurd, nonsensical.

Bottom line: did you laugh? There wasnt a funny joke or line in that text. It was just the same old same old crap that Maher talks about. It IS a dead issue, because theres only so much beating anything can take. And this one has been beaten to death.

Perhaps it was the best example he could think of to describe what he viewed as a lack of patriotic judgement on the side of bush. Perhaps he was explaining exactly HOW and WHY he thought the Plame Affair proved his point so aptly.

And see, this DOES make me think that you missed the point of the article.

Quote:
Jokes make peole laugh. I doubt this made anyone laugh.
Well perhaps that speaks to how poor your definition of "anyone" is.

Quote:
Its not a joke when people dont laugh. Its just cynical angry shouting. Not funny.
Having an existential/ontological debate about what is a joke is taking this in the wrong direction.
The fact is, I'd be willing to bet that a lot of people did/or WOULD find this funny. You didn't, that's all: That is a as FAR as you can speak to in terms of the humour in this article.
You can say "I didn't find it funny"; hell, you can even say, "It's not funny" since that implies that it is your opinion.
But don't be such a retardate and argue that people aren't laughing or that it probably didn't make anyone laugh. After all, certainly your time on this forum has made you realize that other people (for better or worse) have a much broader sense of humour than yours.

Quote:
The guy is a comedian. Am I the only one not missing this part? His job is to make people laugh, not yawn. I should say he is ONLY a comedian.
Well at least you do admit that he is a comedian. It's funny to me that you don't realize your behaviour is more childish than cynical.

but this:
Quote:
Not really qualified to be a political analyst
Someone in the media who is qualified to be a political analst! What does that require? To be a political analyst, you need to read, keep up to date, be somewhat articulate and that's it. Maher obviously has those.
I really hope you are not implying that you require some kind of EDUCATION to be a tV show pundit (be it left or right leaning)...that'd be ridiculous.

Quote:
Im saying Maher is a one trick pony. Thats all. An unfunny one at that. He will be beating the Plame horse 15 years from now.
Does he mention this Plame girl in EVERY single report he does?

And that said, I'd imagine that people were still mentioning Watergate for a few years after it happenned.

Oh Mr.Comedy, point me to the funny parts. Bold them for me. I want to know what makes you laugh.

How is Maher qualified to be a pundit on politics? 4 years in Ha Ha school? He didnt even learn how to make people laugh.

Thats quite the assumption: maher can think?

Not a funny one.

Not "Mr. Comedy", Mr "Common Sense disguised".

1) Where did I say I found this funny? 2) Where did I say I laughed?

How is O'Reilly qualified? Or since we're talking about comedians, Dennis Miller?
Or Horse Face? She has the talent, a-hole, the perspecacity, and brain of a whale. Sure she was a lawyer but frankly, I hate to see how that suddenly makes her qualified to talk politic.

....But all that is besides the point.
Again:

You seem to fail to GRASP the idea that "you" does not equal "people".
Again, you are putting forth your (not altogether bright) opinion of the man, and speaking on behalf of ALL HUMANITY. You somehow believe that, since he did not make YOU laugh, he did not make ANYONE laugh.

Don't you see a problem with that?

In the famous words of Chris Tucker from Rush Hour "Doo yoo unnuhstan du words da ah comin' outta mah mouff?"
