I'd head over to efl-law as someone there may be able to better handle your question.

Go close your damn account ASAP.

or you can do following:

1. Go to the bank and report your ATM and bank book lost.
2. Get printout of previous 2 or 3 month statement and find out when the money (7 million won) is being deposited. Get the exact date.
3. Don't tell your boss about getting a new ATM card and bank book and wait until the deposit day.
4. On the deposit day, with draw everything (7 million won) from the bank account. Keep it.
5. Go to the Tax Office and pay all the back taxes and you'll be fine.
6. Tell your boss to go suck an egg, quit, and get another job.

Do you get monthly statements? If so, you can take them and your bank deposit book to the tax office. If not, demand that you need these statements, as tax season is coming up, and you need to file. Then follow what ChuckECheese said.

One way to look at it is that you've won the lottery: it's your bank account, so it's your money. Follow the steps above and buy yourself something nice. What can they legally do?

What they're doing is not legal, both the tax issue and forcing you to let them use *your* bank account. God forbid I'd ever be in that sort of situation, but there's no way I'd just suck it up and take it.

That's the first time I've ever heard of this happening. I've heard of schools reporting lower amounts than the actual in order to pay less to the gov't.

If the bank account is in YOUR NAME, then it "looks" to me like your agency/school is paying you 7 mill/ mo.

Did they request the ATM card from you?
Your bank account is your's only, whatever amount of money is in there, it's YOURS to keep.

After their next deposit, pack your stuff just in case you have communication problems with your school and need to find a new job. Why would you help them 'launder' money anyways?

Wait. Is this 7 mil coming from your classes alone? So some agency and possibly the principal are skimming a cool 4.6 million a month off the top of your salary? How much do you think running costs are for one of these after-school gigs? Man, I thought the point of these after-school programs was to make English education as affordable as possible; not to make some cunning ajjoshis stinkin' rich. Evil or Very Mad

thanks alot to everyone giving me advice with this, i would love to just keep all the money and get another job but how can i do that? i would need a LOR from the principal of the school, and since he is probably making some money from this deal he wont give me one unless i keep transfering all the money in my name. This is all bull shit i dont understand why the principal wouldint run the damn program himself and have the extra money go to the kids in the form of playground equipment or cheaper tuition for the program

What are your deductions? How much are they taxing you? Just curious.

So what choices do you have? I would think it's better to take the money and if there's any problem with them, let them fire you. What can they do if you kept your money in your own bank account? If they've been depositing 7 million a month, that's proof of your salary. They can't touch you. Make sure to call the pension office and let your boss contribute their share of pension 4.5% of 7 million per month. And call the tax office and if they didn't pay any tax on your behalf, pay with that money. Everything will be legit. If they fire you for that, let them. You'll be free.

Absolutely. Even th contract mentions NOTHING about paying money to the agency, so they have ZERO dibs on any of it. Verbal agreements are not enforceable.

Your salary is reported to the authorities as 7 million.
You actually receive 7 million in your account.
There are no other contractual obligations that say you must pay anyone else the money.

The money's yours. QED.

You don't need your salary slips really for the tax office. Just go to the tax office with your employment contract and ARC. They can find the rest and sue the school for tax evasion.

You'll be owing taxes on that 7 million per month! It's a scam, and the teacher is left holding the bag.
