| Guess there will have to be a farewell party for asianthumbs.org one of these days. It's already happened in China. Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. Not sure about Taiwan, though. Japan, anyone? |

See boys, I told you no need to panic, the Korean police are going to do their half-assed best to "clean up" the filth on the net!

Here are some hightlights:

The government Monday declared an all-out war against obscene video files |
All out war! Phew and I was worried.
| Quote: |
| It will block around 180 such foreign sites by the end of May |
180 sites! Well that should clear up all the porn on the internet.

| while beefing up surveillance of cyberspace to keep such hazardous content from minors. |
The children, won't somebody please think of the children! Cause you know if it weren't for the damned foriegn internet Korean boys would be chaste angels only studying hard to bring great honour and pride to a united Korea and Dokdo! Damn the USA!
So I figure as long as the crack detectives with the Korean police service are only going to block 180 websites a month, we will see the end of pornography (Assuming no new sites pop up) around 2987. I am preparing now for that day. |

New porn laws for a much cleaner internet.
1) No foreigners allowed, except for Japanese women (if being humped by K-men.)
2) Korean women must absolutely not be pictured anywhere near a foreigner.
3) Rape scenes and other wholesome, degrading simulations of violence against women are allowed. |

My letter to the Korea Times:
| Quote: |
Maybe after three years of living in Seoul, I still don't quite "get"
Korea, but it strikes me as odd that the government is going like gang
busters to block foreign porn, ostensibly to protect the youth of this
nation. A noble aspiration, certainly. However, I don't recall any
child ever dying because of Internet porn.
On the other hand, Korea leads the world in child mortality due to
traffic accidents. According to a group called Safe Kids Korea
"everyday, 37 Korean children under the age of 14 are killed or
injured as pedestrians in road traffic accidents." A lot of these
deaths would be preventable if the government simply enforced basic
traffic laws. Get the motorcycles and cars off the sidewalks! Ticket
bus drivers for running red lights!
I don't know. If everyday I looked out my window and saw a pizza
delivery guy taking a short cut through my kid's playground (a rather
common occurrence in my neighborhood), I'd get on the phone with some
level of government. But of course, that would mean the government
actually requiring its own employees to do the jobs for which they are
paid. It's far easier to appear like you're protecting children by
waving your hands and ordering private corporations to do the heavy
lifting. |
