The latest enemy of Korea are Chinese students using PC Bangs:

``When Chinese students use our computers, they change the language applications on the Internet browsers so they can read Chinese characters. This is causing disruption among Korean students who have Chinese Web sites popping up whenever they log in to the Internet and it takes us time to renew the applications again, said Park. |
Hrm. Okay. You have some Chinese customers. Their money is presumably as good as the Koreans. Your PC Bang presumably doesn't have a waiting list to get in. An empty chair means no revenue. The simple solution is put down the cigarette, label some computers for Chinese use, set up a profile for Korean users and a profile for Chinese users.
Oh wait, did I say that was the simple solution. Silly me. Three years in Korea and I still don't get it. Doh, the simple solution is simply ban the Chinese dogs. |

However, most university students seem to be calling the decision by the Internet cafes to ban Chinese students excessive.
|
While it looks like two PC Bang owners are over-reacting, not everyone is on the bandwagon. |

Sounds like PC bang staff are lazy.
How had and how long does it take to change the browser back to Korean?
From what I have seen, Korean people are highly skilled at using computers. I bet it would take them only 15 seconds. |

Yeah...and did you notice that the only quote they provided to back this up was from a Chinese student? |

Perhaps the real reason is that it's all a conspiracy by the Chinese government in accordance with the Korean government to control its Chinese citizens abroad from viewing material that is noramally censored in the mainland. |

Two ways: the LONG way takes FOUR clicks.
The short way is one right-click & another menu click.
See what happens when you have 49,000,000 sarams that can play StarCraft but haven't the foggiest idea how to use basic Windows functions, like Start > Control Panel > Language |

Is this guy for serious? Have you ever run Ad-Aware on your average PC bang machine? |

Or about any PC in Korea for that matter
How do you say "sure, I'll open that attachment or install that IE plug-in!" in Korean? |

They'll be banning all foreigners as soon as this catches on.
foreigners are bad for business because no customer will set next to one. they'd rather go to a different PC bang.

well, first, i am not a frequent user of PC bangs, but i am pretty sure the times i have gone there, of all the students i saw in there, MAYBE 5% were using the computers for school. so the talk of how it hurts korean students is a bit silly.
next, how different are the chinese pop ups from the porn pop ups that all the ajasshis look up? that is ok? a korean student isnt hurt by seeing a porn pop up in korean, but seeing a strange window in a language he cant see hurts their studies, hmm, lets think about this... |

I often visit PC-bangs when I'm not in my small town and 5% would be a very high number indeed. |

Koreans run over and kill 37 kids every day. One American does it, it's a dirty foreign holocaust. |
