| Well, there's lots of open source software available. I've used Star Office before, and it was quite impressive. They now charge 60$ for the newest version (7.0), but you can still find the older freeware version online (5.2). |

How much do you use the OS.. Seriously ask your self. I think its worth paying the money for te OS and legit support.. You use it every day.
Mac OSX is much more expensive then MS OS and MS OS is also infenetly supperior to the Apple counterpart.
I use Photoshop and Maya. I bought Maya 6 it was 1.5k (Student discount but I now use 8 because there is some nice feature I paid for Photoshop 6 but I use CS now) Yes I acknowledge that they are profesional products but then again I am not making any money of the programs through profesional matters I am just a hobbiest and a student. If you use these programs to earn money then by all right you should be paying for them.
There are tonne of programs for image editing that are much cheaper or free that can do the job. Photo editing try gimp.org (paintshop pro), Wordprocessing openoffice.org, there are tonne of alternatives.
MS also stated that the bulk of pirates are not corporation but its users that borrow software trust me if they could easily go after a Haqwon teacher they would. |

I agree. I was originally planning on going legit with Vista, but have decided I don't want to use Vista so I'll probably be buying a copy of XP when I put together my new machine in hte summer. XP OEM editions can currently be had for about 100,000. Just walk around Yongsan and ask. |

You'd better buy your legit XP OEM fast... they'll be gone, and prices jacked-up very very soon.
You're not the only one thinking of this, and MS doesn't want to sell any more copies of XP. |

| I'm sticking with XP until all the copyright stuff built into Vista can be easily hacked. |

Hell I'm sticking with XP until it I have no choice to switch. XP is an incredibly stable o/s. It isn't good enough, it's excellent. |
