Communist/Muslim ecumenism? Well, I guess the old-school Leninists are pretty much gonna hitch onto any wagon they can these days.
I get a kick out of imagining the kind of leftist who drifts into conservative religion. "Well, the whole revolutionary free-love thing isn't really working out for me now that I'm pushing fifty and pot-bellied. Might as well hook up with the Ummah, at least those guys know how to burn cars."
Meanwhile, over in the Land Of The Great Satan, Dinesh Dsouza is trying to whip up an alliance between Muslims and social conservatives...

There is no �clash of civilizations� between Islam and the West. But there are two clashes of civilizations that are shaping the world today. The first is a clash between liberal and conservative values within America. The second is a clash between traditional Islam and radical Islam, a clash within Islamic society. So realize it or not, American conservatives are fighting a two-front war. The first is a war against Islamic radicalism and fundamentalism. The second is a political struggle against the left and its pernicious political and moral influence in America and around the globe. My conclusion is that the two wars are intimately connected. In fact, we cannot win the first war without also winning the second war.

Sounds like this guy belongs on this board -- where so many see 2 dimensionally. Left/ Right Conservative / lefty , Ordained / Evil.......
I really do like simplicity but we all have to admit, the world is much more "deep" than a moving screen / movie screen. We'd all be better to jump out of that 2 dimensionality, like the guy in the Woody Allen flick, "Purple Rose of Cairo" .
Anyways, how close are simplicity and stupidity besides the obvious dictionary brotherhood.

You're either a good, Christian Capitalist who supports the war in Iraq and has a desktop background with little american flags that spell "God Loves our President"; or you're a godless dirtworshiper planning to rape nuns and bayonette some children!
