nope... not if you get the cat chipped and a pet passport issued. Friends of ours have done it and it reduces quarantine to a matter of a couple of weeks AFAIK. I need to get more details off them...

Cats can get passports ?! Where would one get a cat chipped and a passport?

6 months is way too long - I won't be getting a cat if that's the case...

Animals have had passports for a long time now!!! Not sure where you can get one though.

As for getting it chipped, I think there are places in Seoul t hat do that.

OK, I just googled pet passport and the first link I came to is this:

http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/index.htm

Pretty detailed and informative.

Thanks for the link tzechuk. Bad news though - Korea isn't listed as one of the qualifying countries for the PETS program.

http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/pets/procedures/support-info/other.htm

The only other way is for them to go through a 6 month quarantine.

"Dogs, cats and ferrets entering the UK from non-qualifying (unlisted) countries must spend 6 months in quarantine on arrival."

Oh well...........
