What is the worst ex-pat ragazine you've seen here over the past couple of years?
I may've missed one or two. They live and die overnight, it seems. |

How about adding in an option..all of the above?
Also, I'd remove The Korean Herald. Yes, it is a poorly written piece of trash paper, but it has nothing to do with expats from what I know of. |

With that many magazines out, there are probably more ad sales reps roaming Itaewon than whores, these days. |

Let's see, the "foulest zine in Korea" for expats?
Well, DDD is defunct. Wayguk also hasn't been seen for about two years. K-Scene went out of business last summer. Is the OP aware that the current president of the ROK is Roh Moo-hyun?
No one in their right mind would ever use the word "zine" in association with the Korea Herald, a former gov't publication (and no one in their right mind would even dare to call it an actual newspaper). The Groove is neither a zine nor a real magazine, merely an excuse to print some ads with random advertorial and filler mixed in between.
So that leaves ROKon, and ironically is currently voted the worst of the lot despite being the only existent zine among the 6 choices on offer.
If expat zines and magazines in Korea are really so foul, half-assed, uninformed and crappy, it's simply because they are a faithful reflection of the readership they serve.
Happy "reading"! |

I want to bump this thread because I missed it the last time.
My vote is for DDD which got no votes. The guy who ran it tried to do an article about Skunk Hell, and despite the fact he interviewed me for facts, it was the worst, most incompetent article I've ever seen.
Anyway, I have two more titles to add. There's Broke in Korea, a punk zine put together mainly by me with articles by other foreign punks. There've only been four issues over the last couple years, but I think it's a fairly informative zine and a lot of great stories. Not crap about losing weight in Korea or other boring things. I hate to blow my own horn but I'm a pretty competent editor and all the writers have fire in their bellies.
You can read articles from the first two issues here:
http://www.skunklabel.com/eman.html
I also have PDFs available online.
Also, I put together a zine for a friend called "Fark the Internet Verv." It contains my friend Verv's delusional far-right rants about everything from the glory of horses to bukkake and why the Yasukuni Shrine is awesome. You can download issue 1 here:
