My disk permissions are messed up, and I didn't bring my MacBookPro's Mac OS X setup discs with me. Could I borrow someone's? I really don't want to have to buy a new copy at the Apple store...
PM me if you can help |

No. I checked a lot of torrent sites. This afternoon, I even went to the Apple Reseller store at COEX Samseong Plaza and they had every piece of Apple software but no copy of OS X Tiger.
I'll probably have a family member ship it over to Korea for me. |

when you say disk permission problems, do you get an error when you run a disk permission check? "Error: No valid packages (-9997)"
if so it is because you deleted "BaseSystem.pkg" from the librbary receipts folder. well, atleast thats the problem i ran into once when i cleaned out what i thought were useless files from my hardrive-library-receipts folder.
if this is the problem, the solution is relatively simple and does not require you to reboot the whole operating system.
you just need to get a copy of the "BaseSystem.pkg" into the receipts folder. only tricky part is the copy has to match the OSX version you are using, e.g. i run OSX 10.4.8. if you run the same updated OS then pm me and i'll send you a copy of the "BaseSystem.pkg" and you just have to place a copy in the library folder.
here is the link to the apple support that describes this problem:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25704
if this is not your problem, goodluck. |

Thanks again. I've had family send over my Tiger OS X discs. Also, I forgot about Limewire. Thanks for reminding me. |
