Hi,
I am trying to gauge the current interest that university students have in attending American Universities. For those teachers who are working with University students,
How high is the interest in students attending US Universities, particularly vs attending the universities of other English speaking countries.
Are most looking to attend for language study or attend in pursuit of a university degree?
What are some of the reasons keeping them from attending? eg. difficulty obtaining visas, price, lack of knowledge of programs.

Thanks!

One-on-one-EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM would LOVE to attend a US University.
In groups- expect all to answer in unison- "We love only Korea."

Would have to agree with Wylies, they all want to attend a US university. Most don't know that Canada even has universities. What is keeping them back is that they can't speak English.

Mostly, it's the money. Unless your uni has a reciprocal agreement with a US school, the price is out of reach of many Korean students. If you ARE preparing students to study abroad, be sure that they know that the price of books is FAR different in the States than in Korea. The genetics book that my pre-med students are using (all in English) costs W40,000 here. In the States, it would be AT LEAST $100!!

We have a large study-abroad program at my uni. If you're preparing students for that experience, PM me and I can give you lots of info about what they need.
