The camera I want is a Nikon D80 Kit with the 18-135 lens and a Korean warranty.
I have been to Youngsan and all I was offered was a gray market camera , an offer to buy the body separate from the lens and plenty of promises that turned into lies. Or a camera with a in store warranty, yeah right, that would work.

What I am looking for is a straight up place to purchase this camera a place where the buyer is not treated like he is shopping for a used car at end of the Blvd. in uncle Bobs little shop of shinny pieces of sh*t .

Any help will be appreciated

Have you considered looking online since it seems that you have your heart set on a certain model of camera?

Yeah I am trying, but I do not read Korean. And I do not if I could trust them. I went on line last week found the camera and them went to the address and it turned out to be a hole in the shop that did not have any in stock.

Found another yesterday and today the k-teachers are going to help me decipher it.

Go to Namdaemun and ask around. There are both gray market and Korean model cameras there.

It might be more expensive, but have you thought about importing one from your country of origin? Unless you're planning on staying in Korea indefinitely, it might be easier to pick up a camera from B&H with a cheap extended warranty, for instance, or camera-warehouse.ca in Canada (best price on digital bodies I've found - beats Henry's hands down). At the very least, email Nikon and ask them for authorised dealers in Korea so you won't have warranty issues down the line.

Canon IXUS is awesome. I just got one. My old camera broke so I needed a replacement. Unfortunately, the new IXUS models are coming out in April. I

Anyone want to buy mine in a month so I can throw down for the new IXUS's?

Hey, thanks for the replies and suggestions. I ended up buying my camera from the store that when I went that turned into a hole-in the-wall shop, a shop that did not have any in stock and only a couple of camera on the shelves. The shop was located in in the yongsan and they must have ordered it. I did get my international warranty and a good deal.

To all those who recommended a Canon your right Canon makes a great camera. Thanks

Which one did you buy? The Canon or the Nikon?

I bought the Nikon D80 Kit with the 18-135mm and I love it. I live in small town K-land and having a full hobby is a necessity.

I have both a high level IXUS camera and a Nikon D-series camera. They don't even come close to comparing. The Nikon D-80 blows any IXUS out of the water, it's Mercedes and Fords.

The IXUS can turn a modest lass into a vampish with just one click :

Hey for what the IXUS is, it isn't such a bad acquisition (remember its the person behind the photos).

Plus, no DSLR cameras can take mini videos especially at 30fps.
