Your posts actually make me smile. "That offends me" is not an argument. Present a case that because something is offensive automatically makes it taboo in a public forum, and I will remove it. This is my last response to you on this thread.

What you fail to understand, sir, is that just as you have a right to freedom of religion, he has a right to freedom of speech. He is in no way preventing you from practicing your religion, however, you are trying to suppress his right to free speech.
As for your "nothing gives you the right to tell me that I don't" comment, once again, that would be the right to free speech that gives me the right to tell you that. To this end, however, I do apologize for my shut up post. |

Actually, the argument isn't about whether it offended you or not. I highly doubt anyone is contesting that. I think the argument is whether someone should be forced to censor their own beliefs because someone else of different ones is offended by those said beliefs. In today's society (luckily), I believe the answer is "no". |

No, he didn't. He did offend you, that is obvious. You might have asked him to remove it, which you did not do. But unless you can show that that avatar can in someway actually hurt you (like hate speech), you have no recourse in today's society (again I would like to point out "luckily) to force him to get rid of it. |

Well, first of all, if you saw a few of his more religious posts, you would see he has very different views on religion (though he is pretty religious himself). You were making incorrect assumptions. But even if your assumptions had been correct that the only reason he had done it was to insult Christianity, that is still a belief, being the belief that Christianity should be insulted and is false (I am not debating the social niceties of that, just the free speech aspect). |

There is no guaranteed right not to be offended. Suck it up. I'm offended by paintings of Jesus that depict him as a blond man with european features. Why not add a cigarette to the iconography? Priests smoke. Who is to say Jesus didn't? |

Dude, he didn't. He didn't say that they "had only killed a million Jews". Check the tenses of his sentences, and try to learn the language you are supposedly teaching. You are trying to stir up shit... And he wasn't comparing the level of atrocity, just saying that bringing up the Holocaust does not discount that what was done to the Japanese wasn't a good thing either. |
