..anyone know where to buy Oatmeal? Ye, arb Q indeed, but all I ever see in the super are rows upon rows of artery clogging kellogs cereals that are 99% refined sugar; the Korean staple.

Any of ever Oatmeal, real plain good ol' oatmeal around? Very Happy

Where are you? Seoul? I've seen plenty of Oatmeal around Seoul, Quaker Oats, that kind of thing - the Red Door store in Itaewon, the Hannam Supermarket in the Volvo building. Need directions?

Here's another short thread about Oatmeal.

Saw it in the Daegu foreigner goods market stalls. The 'Quaker Guy' pictured on a big bag of it.

I just picked up four cardboard tins at Kukje market in Pusan. A little pricey. 9500 for 2 500 g containers.

Costco in Seoul has the big boxes of individually packaged flavored oatmeals - those things rock.

The Wal-mart in my neighborhood in Incheon also carries individually packaged flavoured oatmeals - the offbrand kind, but they tasted okay.

I just bought some of the flavored packets at Costco. I prefer regular old oatmeal, but haven't found it yet. It was about 20,000 won for a box of 45 packets with a variety of flavors.

Yeah, they take the healthiest cereal, and add a ton of crap (and then charge many times as much as you pay for the real deal, check the ounces and the prices). Of course, people are used to the sugared up stuff, and forget that they are eating it for their health. It starts with childhood- see all of those babies sucking on the colored sugar water in bottles that is called "juice" these days?

Get the real rolled oats, unadulterated, and add a touch of real maple syrup if you need a taste of sweet. Both are available at the black market. My sweet addicted neighbor tried this at my suggestion, and she is now hooked.

Oatmeal purists! Rolling Eyes I like it with all of the sugar. Although I do keep the plain stuff on hand for baking.

In my oven. Very Happy

Get yourself a big tub or three of oatmeal (plain) from Namdaemun market (international arcade...underground) for around 8000 a pop. Then, go to Costco and pick up a bag of cranberries. Add a little maple syrup or brown sugar. YOU WIN.

The flavored bags are for pu**ies.
