Anyone know what it is here? I heard it was 13, but also heard it was 16 and 18. |

Leave the teenagers alone--for the love of God.
Keep it in your pants. |

Real Reality should answer this, but I do believe the age is 19 (by Korean standards).
Otis, 100 years ago in the USA, there was a problem if you weren't married around 15 or 16. Married and ready to pop out babies. Age is relative to society. There's nothing wrong with an 22 year old sleeping with an 18 year old as long as it's consentual. 16 is low, but 16 year olds can be criminally charged as adults in the USA, so 16 seems ok by that standard. 14? Maybe a bit young for 22, in my opinion, but but for an 18 year old, ???? Hmmm.... |

Yeah, you keep believing that.
16 isn't low. 16 is criminal.

An important point to ponder may be the reason(s) one might date (if that is the operative word here) a teenaged girl. Yes, 18 is by many thought to be adult...but here...as many of us know...an 18 year-old is generally pretty clueless to what life's all about. Compared to a North American contemporary....a Korean 18 year-old is light-years behind. In our heart of heart---most of us realize this.
So.....is the reason one would date someone so young because she might fall for the lines a North American girl would laugh at...or worse...tell you to f**k off for? Is it because she is more naive? Is it because she is light-years behind??
I'm not making an accusation here? Just posing a question?
Many of you readers....if you were the parent of a teenaged Korean girl....especially knowing North American males like you do....would you be 100% OK with her dating one?
It's not the same all over the world....people here don't see dating and relationships in the same cavalier way we North Americans do. Yes...the bar girls are loose....but they aren't the majority.
Let the sweet and innocent stay sweet and innocent. They're human beings....there isn't some hunting season where they're "fair game". |

I didn't say I wanted a 16 year old. I prefer women about 25, they are usually over certain stresses that happen in young adulthood.
I am just making conversation about society standards versus personal standards.
Yes, 18 (or 16) is young and many don't make good decisions, but I've know 25 year old in love with 18 year olds and in solid, professional relationships. Is sex between them wrong? No. On the other hand, if a 25 year old manipulates a naive 18 year old, it is wrong, but then again that 18 year old is old enough to know better. |

ROFL (I took it for the humorous quip it clearly is).

Knowing many Korean males like I do, I wouldn't be comfortable with my teenage daughter being left unsupervised here - ever! |

I see there is still one area of life -age- in which it's ok to make broad generalizations and use stereotypes. Ageism is just as misguided as sexism and racism. I've met 25-year-old people who are as dumb as nails, and i've met 17 year olds who can actually hold an intelligent, thoughtful convesation about life, love and labour. Age is only a vague indicator of experience, intelligence and maturity.
While we are tossing out stereotypes, its been my experience teaching high school in North America that there is no more dangerous and manipulative an animal than a teen; boys and girls!
Buyer beware. |
