I'm sure you'd love being called up at 6:30pm on a Friday night after just coming home to be told that you will be picked up in 20 minutes to go to a teacher/parent night.
They had all day to tell me that I was required to go, but the news didn't seem to be able to be transmitted to me until I had actually gone home for the weekend. Rolling Eyes
Stand firm and say "No, I'm sorry but you did not inform me of this and I will not be able to attend." Only you can let yourself be taken advantage of in these situations.

I did. Laughing It was my co-teacher who was calling me up. I just said "I'm sorry, I wasn't told about this earlier, and I have made other plans." I spent a great night at home watching telly, drinking beer and not having to talk to anyone. Was fabulous. Smile

Good on ya! Over time they will eventually get the message... or you will be fired/not-renewed. That is the way of things.

I'm a little bit behind, not as early for work as usual, and the phone rings as I'm getting on my motorbike for the five minute ride to work, 'where are you?'. It's 9am I get this call. My first class isn't until twenty minutes later.

I say my first class is in twenty minutes. It turns out that the whole school only received notice THAT very morning. It was suddenly stated that a group of teachers from another school would visit in the afternoon, some kind of meeting, therefore all the classes had to be crushed hard into the morning, and start earlier, twenty minutes earlier.

Nobody, NOBODY, knew about this until that very morning.

Wow another "beep" cares about you. I can write whatever want as this guy chose to write something. I see no point in complaining? What does that actually return at the end of the day. I have a great job, a great wife and love my life in Korea. I don't care what any third grade punk wants to say or do. If he complains then he is going to hear it from me. I have the choice as you have the choice to write in too. Everyone else seeemed to feel sorry for this poor guy. He chose his life for a reason. To complain won't achieve anything. If I am at all wrong, shoot me? Nothing I have ever said was wrong. All I said was stop complaining, yet he chose to write back and say those stupid things. That was his choice to act like a baby.

good luck to you all
