So this past Sunday a new teacher arrives to stay a couple of months and maybe even sign a contract. The manager asked if he could stay with me for a week until they find him a studio. I was caught off guard and accepted.
Right off the bat I knew he had way too many bricks short of well you know! He is brought by the manager to my apt., we introduce ourselves and first thing he does is sit down on the couch. But not exactly on the couch but on my pillow I had there. Shocked After the manager leaves I lay down a few ground rules such as no smoking in the apt. and I had put a strip of black tape on the cabinets and closets I was using and told him he could use the rest. Very Happy
Monday rolls around too quickly as is the case here in Korea Confused He has been told he should be at the hakwon an hour before class so we could show him around and go over the books and such. He even asked me three times when I was leaving the apt. for work. 10mins. before we are supposed to be there he comes back and says he got lost. I said no problem, we should get going. He says he wants to take a shower first but says I should go ahead. So I draw him a quick map to the hakwon.
Five mins. before first class starts he is nowhere to be seen. By this time the manager has been staring out the window for ten mins. waiting for him. The owner finally tells him to go and look for him. He got lost again and was way on the opposite side of the map I drew him.
Monday he is late for every class...3mins. here 5 mins. there! Mad
Day is over and they talk to him about being late and he say's he won't do it again. That night I find medicine capsules here and there in the apt. Shocked with the contents emptied. I am really starting to worry. And I find out the real reason he was late, apparently he had ordered a pizza after I had left . I know because as I write this the empty box is still in the fridge. Surprised
Tuesday he is late again and late for every other class.
After work I go home to find ashes all over a bag I had just washed that was drying on the veranda. Sad
Wednesday has to got to be one for the books in my days here in Korea.
So here I am cooking and getting ready for work. I noticed my mayo is missing from the fridge! Now I know I had it in there because I used it on Tues. Shocked I am really thinking is this guy really that OUT there?!!?!?
Meanwhile cereal is crunching away beneath my slippers cause he likes to scatter things all over the place. Today I decide to take a taxi to work instead of walking. On the way to work who do I see walking non-chalantly in sky blue shorts and a tee? Yes, you guessed it! When I saw him it was 2:35 and I was late myself having to be at the hakwon by 2:30. He was at least a 10 minute walk back to the apt.!
I get to the hakwon and it seems the owner had seen him too while driving to work! Shocked
To make things worse he had been hitting on a Korean teacher by asking her out for drinks! But hey!!! It gets better... So he shows up 10 mins. before class. I didn't notice at first because I had alot on my mind getting ready for class...
After the second class the owner is ready to fire him on the spot. She asks me what I think about the new teacher. I said well...Then I notice he has a shirt just like mine. WAIT!!! That is my shirt!!!! Shocked The bell rings and I gotta go so no chance to answer the owner or ask him why he has one of my shirts on. Then during class I am thinking shirt...naw he just borrowed a shirt without asking cause I wasn't there. After class I start to answer the owner of what I think about the new teacher...Then I glance over at him across the office and HEY he is wearing my jeans too!!! Shocked I am now thinking what the F__K!! The bell rings again... Yeah, I know our between class breaks are way too short.

Epilogue: I was volunteered to tell the him he is being let go and his last day will be Friday. Tomorrow he will be put into a motel til Sat. morning.
I go home after work today and find wine stains on the couch I had just washed and it took three days to dry out! Also next to the couch are more ashes and a cigarette butt...

Is this real or are you pulling our legs? This guy really, as a friend of mine often says, "out to lunch". I should share this story with him. He is definitely two beers short of a six pack, a fellow with a few screws loose, and a fellow who is stunned as me ar*e. How did this even get a degree?
Maybe he drank his brain cells away just after graduation? I had to actually study at university. I don't get it. Unless, people like him got a 2.0 or 1.9 and a diploma or went to one of the easiest schools on the planet.

Since he will be needing a new job, you can refer him to Noble English Academy in Manchon Dong, Daegu.
By the sounds of this guy, he would be a perfect match for a director that screwed me over.

While maybe not the worst of the worst, but I can't think of more than a dozen or things or so worse than working with someone who a) goes out of his way to dis your posts, b) refuses to acknowledge your existence on the street when he sees you on his way to the job interview, and then goes on to c) PM you to ask questions about the job.

Never, ever get "caught off guard"... answers to questions like this should be an automatic and emphatic "NO!"

First time I lived here I shared accomodation with five others.

Fucking fresh out of uni kiwi girl. Didn't do the dishes. Left her fucking minging plates in the sink.

Eventually I got a cleaner because the house was so fucking stinking. Made them pay out for her.

Lazy kiwi bitch would still chuck her dirty shit in the sink a few minutes after the cleaner left. fucking say they were her dishes and it was her problem then leave them there for days on end.

Fresh out of college/university graduates are a fucking nightmare.

If you don't know how to answer a question just say "No".

Sit this guy down on the opposite side of a large table point your fore finger right in his face then loudly say "You're fired".

p.s. Your grammar is kind of frantic, but I like it.

Sounds like an episode of Friends. Especially the shirt and jeans.

True. Some directors need to be reminded of how lucky they are to have good teachers sometimes. My boss can't stand me here even thoughg I am never late, wear a shirt and smart pants, and am extremely popular with the students and parents. He thinks he has a bad foreigner.

Should send this guy over as my replacement.

Yes. Rehearse it if necessary. The first response to any question from a Korean should immediately be No.

They rely on taking you by surprise.

Imagine the principal, vice principal, and head teacher filing into your classroom for the first time in a year, with faces like thunder. You think one of your students has just died. They are angry. but then they tell you to shave your beard.
Yep, definitely caught off guard there. Wink

epilogue II

So I did a little research on this curious fellow from Australia...
Apparently he had no cash so the recruiter had to pay his bus fare and even bought the bloke dinner! Upon arriving he got 100,000 Won from the owner til he could get his first weeks pay after working the said week! Surprised

Today I asked him before they took his a__ to a motel if I could have my T-shirt and jeans back. He said ok. Then he hands me the tee and his old jeans! I said dude!!! Those aren't my jeans! He says oh sorry. So to finally put this ordeal behind me I did get my clothes back. And after he left I decided to clean out the apt and the room he was in. The fu_ker had been smoking in his room and put out the butts on the FLOOR!
BUT I did find my lost mayo... Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad (And it went straight into the rubbish bin!) Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
