I guess that I was lucky that I found two good schools to teach at in China. Sorry, that I made it sound like a wonderful place to work. Yes you have the same problems like you do in KOrea. Here is some of the down side of teaching in China.
Where I worked most of the teacher's didn't have a degrees or TESOL cert. They did have a few fake cert.
1. Some schools trying to cheat you your wages, hours, and airfare.
2. Teaching 25 to 28 clases a week. Sometimes 6 or 7 days.
3. Working in hot class rooms for 3 month with no AC.
4. Working in class rooms with no heat, because winter is only 2 months.
4. Teaching kids who has not had a bath in several days.
5. I did work at a school where a girl did a midnight run.
6. I was almost robbed twice on the bus and two of my friends where
robbed on the bus.
7. Had a teacher who had to pay a big fine, because the school didn't get
her work visa in time.
What I mean about 75 foreigners and 25 Chines at a party. When we had a party the coteachers friends would also show up for the party. Sometimes it would be more Chinese girls than foreign teachers. |

Are you another Stamford grad by any chance? I'd recognise that Stamford writing style anywhere. |

I know people teaching at a university in China. Neither of them even finished high school.
Their fellow 'native' English teachers are from:
Canada, England, KOREA and RUSSIA. |

I know one Chinese girl who married to a former ESL teacher in China, he was a plumber before he become a teacher in China and he is now a plumber in States, basically that's all he knows.
Well, they are planing to go back China to teach again
He doesn't have a degree.
Most Chinese public school teachers ( elementary/middle/high schools ) make about 200 USD ( exactly 170 USD )
while most native teachers make around 500-700 USD which means they make 3-4 times what Chinese teachers make.
All Chinese girls think white men are RICH even though they are teachers, I've read some white guys complaining on China forum like " All Chinese girls think white men are rich ", they seem uncomfortable |

Ms. Seoul~~~
You are turning into just another one of those socks, like Ya~Ya or such, who think that the only type of person who can become ETs/FTs are those types who can't get a stable job in their home country~~ Very Stereotypical and all too cliche of the average Korean...
But what about those Asian women that are married to foreigners and then when they get to the US, they run away because they only married their husbands to get into the country? What about them?
I distinctly read one of your posts where you said that you were married to a foreigner before coming to the US and then divorcing him and taking his kid away...
Can it be said that YOU (if you are truly a female...) were one of those "types" of women that only married to get into the US? To come to the "land of the big PX"?
Before casting stones at anyone else, Ms. Seoul, please take a careful look at your situation.
True, you might have a right to stay in the US, but did you arrive here on your own merit? Did you come because you had some special skill that is needed in the US?
I think the answer is; NO
So you just arrived off the boat as every other Korean woman, on the back of your "foreigner" husband....
I have no ill-will toward you, but you need to be careful of what you said and where you say it...... |

| I look at other boards from other places and see all these well qualified teachers making 400-500 US A month and wonder why they don't come to Korea where they can make so much more. Sure those other places look attractive but I save twice as much as I would even be able to make in those places |
Maybe it is because most people outside of united slaves of amerikuh do not make life choices purely based on money. You amerikuhns think money is everything and would sell your mothers if you were not so afraid of jail and terrorist creditors coming to get you. China is a beautifully cultural place compared to Korea. Thailand? I personally would not go there, but I am sure there are thousands of middle aged white men who can rationalize why they are there. |

am I?
Are you sure you didn't write a post called; "The secret of Miss Seoul" where you told people that you were 26 years old, living in the US with a child and who was divorced from a blonde-hair, blue-eyed Swedish-American....
I do recall reading a post about you on this forum, that I guess you had erased...
I think I stand corrected in my assumption that you are just one of those Korean "run away" brides...
And how can you come on this board, making assumptions about a person's qualifications without know them personally....
I know I can make assuptions about Korea because I WAS there and I DID meet alot of different people, but at the same time, I don't make too many blanket statements about the people you want to ask for help...
If you don't like my statemant about you; please reframe from making them about us... |

Ms. Seoul...
I will not get into an argument about your personal life nor your "autobiography"....
My MAIN point is; Be totally prepared to be flamed when making totally biased judgement calls. I speak out of personal experience and I am willing to take all attacks that come my way....
Have a graciously nice day..
Take care |
