ABC News Exclusive: The Secret War Against Iran
April 03, 2007 5:25 PM
Brian Ross and Christopher Isham Report:
Iran_militant_group_nr A Pakistani tribal militant group responsible for a series of deadly guerrilla raids inside Iran has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials since 2005, U.S. and Pakistani intelligence sources tell ABC News.
The group, called Jundullah, is made up of members of the Baluchi tribe and operates out of the Baluchistan province in Pakistan, just across the border from Iran.
It has taken responsibility for the deaths and kidnappings of more than a dozen Iranian soldiers and officials.
U.S. officials say the U.S. relationship with Jundullah is arranged so that the U.S. provides no funding to the group, which would require an official presidential order or "finding" as well as congressional oversight.
Tribal sources tell ABC News that money for Jundullah is funneled to its youthful leader, Abd el Malik Regi, through Iranian exiles who have connections with European and Gulf states.
Jundullah has produced its own videos showing Iranian soldiers and border guards it says it has captured and brought back to Pakistan.
The leader, Regi, claims to have personally executed some of the Iranians.
"He used to fight with the Taliban. He's part drug smuggler, part Taliban, part Sunni activist," said Alexis Debat, a senior fellow on counterterrorism at the Nixon Center and an ABC News consultant who recently met with Pakistani officials and tribal members. |

To the very last, the giftmaker keeps on giving (AP):
| Quote: |
| Before boarding, the sailors received gifts given to them on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's behalf, Iran's state-run news agency, IRNA, reported. |
I wonder if that included an autographed portrait of him before he grew his stubble beard and a copy of the video shown of the sailors on Iranian TV?
Gopher quipped:

Right.
Just ask the Chinese or any Indian, or many in the Middle East, for example. They just love the British, let me tell you... |
Yeah, really.

| The guys look like they've just been waylaid by Indian tailors on Khao San Road. |
Next thing they'll be telling us that Prez Ahmadine-jihad-alamabad offered his personal tailors for the sailors to be fitted. What a fashion plate he is.

| It seems that he also has a sizable number of critics amongst the Iraqi youth. I posted this in another thread but nobody responded ( ). Well, here is another excerpt, with a link to the origin which I believe is an Israeli publication. |
Sorry I missed your original thread. This clip serves as a reminder to me that there are Iranians who see past the charades of their leaders. I feel for them, really. So much misused intellectual talent. It's sad, really. Where are the leftists in the West to rally behind them?
Of course, that liar Octavius would have readers of this forum believe that I want to see Iran nuked. Nothing could be further from the truth. I forgive him, though. As he knows, the mind tends to wander and conjure up distorted images when maintaining the grounds of ToYa U. over many long hours in the sun. |

I heard that they'd all gone round to Jinju's place for a photo portrait session.
Sadly, I wasn't invited. |

Whoa! Since when did you start hating America and siding with the terrorists? jinju's not going to be happy when he hears about this, stevemcgarrett.
But yes. My first thought seeing those suits was that Ahmadinejad had hooked up the tailor.
For more on life in Teheran, here's an excellent BBC documentary - Rageh Inside Iran. It's 90 minutes long, but really worth watching. Ahmadinejad even shows up for a cameo at one point. |

Thanks gang ah jee,
I'll watch this, this evening. After I finish my sweating away at the hagwon.......
Another thing I think all those reptiles who advocate militancy and jets and jaws, another thing they should view are these ordinary images of Iranians.
