If you are renewing with the same school, go to immigration with paper work from your school, an ammended contract, wait in line and once at the front of the line it should take no more than 5 minutes. 10 tops.

If you are going to another school, the process could take a couple weeks.

If you are extending your contract with the same employer the process takes about 15 minutes + the waiting time to get to the counter.

You will need:
Your ARC
Your passport
your new contract with the end date clearly marked.
A copy of your school's business registration
A signed guarantor form from your boss.

An signed application form from you (available at the immi office).
30k won your your extension

PLUS 50k won if you want to get your multi re-entry permit at the same time (saving you the trip to immi later to do it).
