I just downloaded a bit torrent program, so now where do I go to get the music? Can anyone recommend a good site, and possibly provide a link.

Bit Torrent is better for movies and TV shows.

If you're looking for something specific, you should start at www.isohunt.com

BitTorrent's great for music if you're into full albums. I use www.isohunt.com mostly, but www.torrentportal.com and http://btjunkie.org are also good.

If you're looking for individual songs, peer-to-peer software like LimeWire is your best bet.

if you just want 1 song of an album torrent, I suggest bitornado. It's awesome. You can choose what files you want to dl and neglect the rest.

If you're into new music from Europe, I'd reccomend http://www.puroeuro.com/

Also, you can check out download.com and compare the different MP3 search tools. Make sure you read the user reviews too.

I have joined my first invite only torrent site, Oink. Fantastic. only 192k or better albums, and the download speeds are always very very fast. Whole albums come down in a few minutes many times.

However, if you dont maintain a 0.5 ratio you are kicked off.

To get invites to give out you need to have uploaded more than 10Gb and have a better than 1.05 ratio... long way to go for me.

I find that most music available on public torrents is poorly ripped by people who dont know how to rip, and dont have the latest codecs. If you just use cheap headphones you will often not notice this, but if you really like to hear all the your music can offer, then good headphones are important. The downside is that bad rips show up.
