Octavius was Noam the Socialist's tutee at MIT in the days when he used to sleep on the steps of the admissions office, don't ya know? And he wishes he had O'Reilly's salary, too. |
Chomsky's probably closer to an anarchist. |

O'Reilly would make mincemeat of you in an on-air debate... |
Anyone who thinks O'Reilly ever debates points is more than a little lost, and almost as lacking in credibility.. |

Depends on what you mean by debate. I'm referring to the use of the word in mainstream media, not to forensics, which I used to coach. This isn't Lincoln-Douglas debate here, bab.
And as far as staying on message is concerned, O'Reilly does so quite well. You just don't like his message so you ignore the delivery. Can he badger some guests? Sure, but ingrates like Maher deserve to be badgered. And when he doesn't have a good reply Maher reaches into his depleted arsenal and attempts a satiric comeback. |

gang ah jee:
Saw the video clip and it's over the top, as they say--but by both parties. And Geraldo is notorious for his baiting of guests so he just got a piece of his own pie.
The most unfortunate aspect is that it's counterproductive. It's more a reflection of the tirade that is now tolerated in this country known as the media cultural war.
But this is also NOT a typical O'Reilly encounter and you know it (or should).
The illegal immigrant issue gets a lot of people hot and bothered as well it should. Geraldo is making excuses, not surprisingly because he's Hispanic. It's one thing for him to call for reform and quite another to accuse Americans of "luring" Mexicans here. That's just burro sh-it. |
