PMP why? Get an audio player. Video is a waste of money IMHO. Who watches videos on their PMP player?
With audio you can download music, audiobooks, theatrical performances, comedy, chatshows, news etc. and still be aware of your surroundings. |

COWAN is supposed to be a good Korean brand for that sort of filth. |

What's wrong with watching videos on your computer? Seriously, a PMP with an adequate screen size for watching videos is going to be pretty big and I've never seen anybody on a bus or subway watching videos on their PMP. Have you?
A few friends of mine have PMPs, they think they are neat but they never use them for watching videos. Before you buy it try and find out why people don't use them for watching videos. I honestly don't know if people do that! |

Loads of people watch stuff during their morning commute. Hell, my 20 minutes on the subway was a perfect amount of time to fit in a sitcom. What you really need to do is find out whether you're ok with the size. The ones with 4.3 inch screens do not fit conveniently into a pants pocket, but if you carry around some kind of hand or shoulder bag then it may be just what you are looking for. And lets not forget that you can listen to music on them and most have a host of other functions. |

True, size matters with PMP players. And sitcoms are handy, if you are into them and want to download them. But movies?
I don't think I could ever sit through a full movie on a PMP player.
Radio kicks ass! Explore podcasts! |

My company shuttlebus picks me up each morning and the ride is usually 45 minutes in the morning and about 1 hour in the evening. My pmp is fantastic for watching tv shows that I've downloaded. There are times when I don't want the bus ride to end as I'm almost at the end of the show. I can't imagine just sitting there and listening to music the whole time, it would be quite boring. My Istation V43 is a perfect size and has navigation too so my wife and I use it on the weekend when we go travelling. I used to watch the shows I downloaded at home but with my daughter being born I just don't have the time anymore, plus hey, family first. However on the bus I'm sitting there anyway and I can't sleep on buses so it's a perfect fit. I'd say it depends how long your commute is. Good luck............ |

Can't believe someone has never seen people watch video on PMP's!! I see at least one or two people every time I get on the subway.
Thundarr is correct about the 4.3 inch players being a bit cumbersome. It was fine in the Winter when I was wearing my big bulky coat with big pockets.........but now I can't imagine myself carrying my PMP around when I'm wearing light Summer clothes.
So, perversely, I dug out my old Sony MD player! I hadn't used it for about 5 years!! But it's perfect for listening to MP3's on a daily basis. Very small and light. I will get a small and cheap MP3 player eventually because an MD disc can't store much stuff.
The PMP is still great for longer trips and vacations. I'll sometimes watch a TV show or movie on the V43 before sleeping at night.
Watching movies is fine on the V43. You don't really notice it's a small screen.
The new i-Station or Cowon models are all good. Just take your pick from the basic models around 300,000 won or the newest ones with internet, DMB and GPS all built in. Around 600,000 for those. |
