to determine quickly whether or not you will like someone. Is there something someone could say or do in the first few minutes you meet or some hobby/show/movie/artist they profess to like that would make you think, "I'm going to like this person."?

Yes, it's because of phermenones. Pheremones place people into the "I am attracted to you" group, the "I'll only ever be your friend" group and the "I don't know what it is, but for some reason, I just don't like you" group.
