hey folks I just talked to the cable tv people, tomorrow we will be losing CNN and some other channels on the regular cable. if you want to keep them you are going to have to upgrade to their digital cable at 28k/month plus a 240k deposit on the box.

man does that sound like time warner cable in the states. ugghhh

I lived in Mapo-gu last year and cable was cheap. It sounds like something happened, either a company merged or was taken over and they are jacking up the prices.

It sucks that they'd take CNN out of the cheaper package.

Crap. I lost cnn too. My school pays my cable bill. It would seem greedy to ask them to upgrade me to digital.

Download TVU player, they have CNN. Alternatively you can watch the BBC and Australia Network on the Donga Ilbo's English website. If it wasn't for my need to watch live Premier League Football with English commentary I would do away with my Skylife package for good.

TVU is not bad, I mean for free it's a pretty good deal. Hopefully you guys have faster computers then mine (it's 4 years old). Sometimes I really want to chuck my computer out the window and watch it smash on the pavement.

I just like having CNN on in the background on my TV. I usually don't watch it actively. Oh well, they left me Discover Channel and AFN. And I'll be departing Korea in fall. I think I can make it. Upside I don't have to hear Anna Nichol Smith's damn name ever again. Yi ha!

my problem is I like to sit on my couch and watch tv, my tv is too old to run a video cable from my computer to it plus its a huge distance.

the digital aint bad, bbc world, aussie network, cnbc (goes to the US CNBC at 7P), star sports and a few more korean channels with US shows running plus cnn. just a pain shelling out 240k for a deposit on the box

When in the heck are we gonna get Fox News here? I don't trust any other network or website for my news. None of the others are Fair and Balanced. They are all liberal pieces of garbage. Bill O'Reilly is by far the most honest man to ever grace the media.

Just kidding. Fk that network and their conservative-leaning, issue-distorting crap they shell out as news.

I think TVU player carries it as well, jokes aside. So for the right wing death beasts amongst us, you can have your serving of spittle-flecked bile and intolerance free on the internet! Thank-you, Al Gore!

Digital cable is all about getting more money from people, as well as controlling people stealing. It's nice if you have TIVO, though.
