|

So as it turns out I have an extra laptop. Long story. Basically, I'm using this laptop as a server right now but it's overkill to run the few apps I need it to run.
The specs:
HP DV8000 (DV8305US, I believe) laptop
17" WXGA+ (1440x900) resolution, "BrightView" glossy screen
1.25GB RAM
80GB HDD
8x DVD burner (dual-layer support, LightScribe,etc.)
6-in-1 media reader (SD, MMC, XD, MM, MS, SM)
1.8GHz Turion 64
128MB video RAM
et cetera.
It still has a factory warranty until October. It also has a legal copy of XP (and the game Far Cry) installed.
Basically it's a powerful value-multimedia platform. It retails for $1200 and you can find it refurbished for $800.
Now, I'm not dead set on selling this but it is redundant and I don't necessarily need it. I'd like to get W650,000 or thereabouts for it, which I feel is a fair price. I will ignore lowball offers; I'm not moving any time soon, I know the value of the computer and while I may be a bit flexible I'm not going to sell this for a song. If you think you can get a better deal in Yongsan and you think you can get an English-language OS with your system for a better price, then by all means do so.
Since I really only need an Internet and media server, I'd be willing to trade this laptop for another laptop + cash. If your computer is at least 1GHz, has 512MB of RAM, and has S-video out I'd consider trading.
Feel free to PM me with questions. I can be reached through Dave's or by cell phone at 010-5832-0505 (but I only answer my phone when I'm on lunch or after work, around 7-11pm; I will reply to text messages though).
Thanks for looking!

I *might* consider offers, but not offers that discount my asking price by 30%. I'm asking 650,000. This is a very, very reasonable amount for the machine, especially with the extra RAM. |

Not sure why you always bring up the prices of things back in the States. Unless someone happens to be going there, it's really pretty irrelevant.
And what's with your sig line? Reminds of some Talking Heads lyrics except they used rattlesnake instead of cobra. |

Spliff, you'll note that coming from the States you'd have to pay some pretty significant shipping charges. Further, you'd be responsible for the 20% import tax.
I've already shouldered shipping (cost me $70 by USPS) and taxes.
I'm selling a damn good laptop in very good condition -- and still with the manufacturer's warranty. I'm not moving anytime soon, and while I could use the money I've done my research and I know what my computer's worth. Like I mentioned, if you really think you can get a better deal in Yongsan then I firmly believe you should go to Yongsan. |
