I wonder how the owner of this fine establishment will react to the pitch invasion...

That's if, and I am assuming this must have come to pass, he hasn't been run out of business by the fierce band of expats that have rallied a lynch mob on the big three Korea sites.

Tell us how bad you have made business for him with your campaign, boys!

OP, OP, Op!!!

1 thing the OP did that was REALLY stupid was take his Korean girlfriend(she is Korean correct?) to the police station.

What did you need her there for(don't give the Translator excuse because the police must provide one for you)?

How did you expect the cops to treat her?

You have been here for 2 years, don't you know Korean males are superior to Korean females and don't like it when they have foreigners for boyfriends?

If she had another Korean to support her(fend off the foreigner boyfriend comments) and if you needed her there as the only witness, I might understand.

You did nothing wrong and had other witnesses. If the cops questioned them for you was unsaid and probably not done as it might have helped your case as opposed to the Koreans. Korean cops generally don't seek witnesses that might help a foreigner!

In fact, in an instance that happened to me in the past, Korean cops told my witnesses who had cell phone video evidence to go home.

If the cops would have asked me why I fingered him I would have seriously asked them if that is against the law.

You got to focus on the unlawful acts. Going there with your Korean girlfriend simply brought outside interferences to the cop shop with you.

Signing anything other than a complaint against the dude was nothing but utterly ignorant!!! You didn't have to sign anything. You could have told them you would think about it. Didn't you have any scratches/brusises/marks on your neck or anywhere else the next day?

Are you drunk? Or high? Your post makes no sense at all. Are you even a native English speaker? What load of haphazard, disjointed drivel...your point, please?

[You mean in your culture (Korean culture) some men look down on the women. I can see that in some on television where you see Korean men beating Korean women in these very bad movies. Korea in many cases is anti-women and anti-foreigner. He brought his girlfriend there, because he maybe needed a translator, and the cops aren't supposed to be sexist. They are supposed to uphold the law. Then again, I just saw some cops today hit some guy in a motorcycle. He was on the crosswalk, and he had the right of way.

So....

No updates on the big bodacious burger boycott of 2007?

That's awfully surprising. Laughing

Yeah. It's humorous; I walked past that place just yesterday, and it looked as busy as it ever has been. Perhaps they should put a picture up of the owner wielding a crowbar in a fury, as it would merely increase sales. (Anecdotal evidence to be certain, but nonetheless, I have yet to see any backlash.)

I have no vested (derisive) interest in the OP's story, let alone the success of Thunder Burger, but the situation doesn't seem to have any effect upon the business.

I hope this isn't true, because I really like the burgers there. But I would feel weird going up to the guy and saying "Hey, I heard you hate foreigners. Is that true?" I like the burgers there and the ones at th Rocky Mountain Tavern. I don't like the ones at TGIF that much, because the staff doesn't seem to understand the words "well done".

Thats because only about 1% of foreigners read daveseslcafe.

Also, foreigners care more about eating what they want than showing loyalty to a stranger.

I'll remember not to go in if I'm ever in that neck of the woods.

The guy maybe has so many people parking in his spot and is fed up with the situation.

What do you mean his spot? How is it his spot? It's a public street. Why can't he park in a different spot?

Going back to the story ...
I have a car park. It really, really annoys me when people park their car in my place. There is no sign, but it is Korean knowledge that it is one's own car park directly on the street frontage outside of a single level house or a store.

I went through that years ago in Haebangchun. It's not Korean knowledge and it's not law.

There's angled public parking in front of Thunder Burger. The spots are not reserved. It's open public parking. It doesn't make any sense that a shop owmer would want to take a spot in front of his store and make it more difficult for customers to park.
