It's the motto of Stamford University. I think they're referring to education.

That's right! It's even printed on my diploma!

Too bad the Korean printer made a mistake with mine and made the Latin translation 'Molon Labe'. What the hell could that mean?

I think it's Thai, not Latin. It's probably a translation of Stamford's new motto for the 21st century - "International Studies ... Healthy Environment".

Oh, have you heard the motto of that degree mill in Bangladesh that has been trying to cash in on Stamford's good name and reputation? "Moving Teaching Excellence from Good to Great". It probably sounds better in Bengali.

And homecoming? I'll be coming to get some!

Whenever I was acting like a little sh#t my mother would always pull out the " you're cruising for a bruising." No idea why, but that has always stuck with me. She never actually bruised me but she did bite me on the arm once, but only after I bit her first. When I look back, she was the coolest mom. Smile

I hated "take'er easy" until a guy at a chandlery I used to work at added to it "and if she's easy, maybe take'er twice".

My favorite rhetorical: "Are the Kennedies gunshy?"

The funniest scene for me in any movie was Mel Gibson's 'Payback'...

"Don't worry buddy, this one's on me..."
"Ya see me reachin' fer my f***in' wallet?!"

Gold... Smile

in your life?

Have you ever heard or read phrase and it just stuck? Mine is this one:

"Come get some"

I was working at an automotive shop with a bunch of rednecks and one was talking to another. The one dude, I guess, was bragging how he could take the other guy (the other guys was tall and fat and a force to be reckoned with). So the tall fat guys said, "if you think you got it, come get some".

Laughing

I don't know why, but, it has stuck with me for over 8 years. lol.

Share your story behind your phrase!

"Get some???"... Nah, I want it all!!!

Boo... Sorry....

Some that I've been stuck on lately...

"He's got more issues than a comic book store, more vd than a Tiajuana brothel, and his head's so far up his ass he can taste his lungs."

"She's so hip, she can't see over her own pelvis."

"He's camp as a tent."

"He's as busy as a two-headed rent-boy in a caulksucking contest."

"I've seen better legs on a quadruple amputee."

"Yeah, she's pretty cute, for a burn victim."

"Wow, you really shat the bed."

"She's so cool her brain's got frostbit."
