You can get an H1 (working holiday visa) without a degree.
You CANNOT legally teach without a degree.
You CANNOT legally teach on an H1 (even if you have a degree - outside the status of sojourn). |

Not relevant - tourist (C3 tourist visa) in the linked discussion and H1 visa (working holiday - 1 year visa) being asked about here.
H-1 Status (Working Holiday)
A. The object of Visa Issuance
A national whose country made agreements or memoranda on "Working Holiday with the Republic of Korea is entitled to apply for this visa. The foreigners are allowed to be engaged in short-term working activities while in Korea only to meet their expenses for sightseeing.
※ Countries which made agreements or memoranda on Working Holiday with the
Republic of Korea
ㅇ Australia : 1 year period of stay and 1 year validity of multiple visa.
ㅇ Canada : 6 month period of stay and 3 month validity of multiple visa.
ㅇ Japan : 1 year period of stay and 1 year validity of multiple visa
ㅇ New Zea-land : 1 year period of stay and 1 year validity of multiple visa.
* Individuals who intend to engage in work fields contrary to the spirit of the agreement/memoranda or domestic laws are not allowed. For example:
ㅇ An individual who wants to work in an entertainment place as a receptionist, dancer, fashion model, singer, musician, acrobat, etc.
ㅇ An individual who wants to work as a medical doctor, lawyer, professor, pilot, etc. which requires certain qualifications.
ㅇ An individual who wants to work as a foreign language instructor without getting permission
ㅇ An individual who wants to take a regular education or training course other than a Korean language training course within 90 days.
ㅇ An individual who intends to have a job rather than sightseeing.
ㅇ An Individual who wants to engage in the activities such as a reporter, religion, research or technical instruction contrary to the spirit of the agreement/memoranda.
B. Application and Required Documents
A foreigner shall make an application for a visa to a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad and required documents are as follows:
ㅇ Passport
ㅇ Application form (refer to Annex 2)
ㅇ Return flight ticket
ㅇ Documents proving the applicant's capability to cover the expenses in Korea
ㅇ Travel itinerary and plan
※ If necessary, the chief of a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad may ask an applicant to submit more documents than required.
C. The Standard of Visa Issuance
ㅇ The chief of a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad may issue a single visa(H-1) to the object of visa issuance within the period of stay and validity of visa according to the agreements or memoranda on Working Holiday with the Republic of Korea without getting permission from the Minister of Justice.
ㅇ For an applicant from the U.S.A. which has an agreement for multiple visas with the Republic of Korea, a multiple visa stipulated by the agreement will be issued.
D. Visa Issuance
When the application is approved, the chief of a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad shall affix a visa stamp in the passport of the applicant. On a visa stamp, there are the status of sojourn(H-1), period of stay(according to the agreements or memoranda) and validity of a visa. |

Emphasis on "without permission". To get permission, one must also qualify for an E2 visa, with all the documents that entails.
Seems to me teaching on a WHV is more pain than anything:
Have to qualify first for the WHV
Have to ALSO qualify for a teaching visa
Seriously limited in the amount of hours you may teach.
Doesn't seem worth it. |
