If you head to a bunch of big department stores you are bound to find some.
Three years ago there was nothing but Tobasco and some REALLY terrible Korean Knock offs for hot sauce here in Gwangju (we're in the south-west of the country). Worst one I found was called ACE and costs about 700won a bottle.
Nowadays we've had a bunch of big department stores spring up and I'm happy to say you can find hot sauce all around the city. E-Mart carries a nice one called Bulliards, it's quite hot, like a Louisianna style.
Lotte Mart has Franks Red Hot - that's a staple back home.
If you got up to Itaewon the foreign grocery store carries some nice ones too. I just picked up Texas Pete there this weekend.
There's always the possibility of getting someone to get you some from an army base.
If you head to as many big grocery stores as you can find you're bound to find a modest selection of them.
I'm a hot sauce addict too. Good Luck |
