Congratulations on debunking global warming! The world thanks you for saving us all from the clutches of that nefarious eco-Stalinist plot.

(and, uh, April ain't over, champ.)

I just love people who think GW means it will never be cold again. They have such a grasp of the complexities of the issue! Who was it that said global warming = heating up and climate change = cooling? And then there was that a quick descent into a mini-Ice Age was the opposite of, and unrelated to, GW?

Yes, back in Missouri, my reletives tell me that they are seeing freezing cold temperatures after having already been 70 and 80 degrees for a few weeks. Plants and flowers that grew are dying. Spring came, but winter returned. Screwed up climatic dynamics if you tell me.

wide fluctuations in freak weather patterns, extremes of hot and cold and wind and storms are all consistent with climate change

Dude, you know that every year since 1992 has been warmer than 1992, right? And that the ten hottest years on record occured in the last 15, and that every year since 1976 has been warmer than 1976, and that the 20 hottest years on record occured in the last 25, and that every year since 1956 has been warmer than 1956, and that every year since 1917 has been warmer than 1917, right? Don't believe me, take it up with those hippies at NASA.

But oh yeah, it's cold right now in North Carolina! Laughing

I see. If we have a record hot day: global warming.

If we have a record cold day: climate change, caused by global warming.

Rolling Eyes

Yeah, I saw that movie too.

...and you don't realize how silly the opposite argument is? It sounds equally as silly when there are threads started about hot days.

I agree, but who has been starting threads about hot days?

Come on, every week some white sneaker-wearing handwringer does. "It feels quite warm to me, it must be global warming."

Hey, I own some white sneakers!

I've had them for years though, and I don't wear them much anymore.

But anyway, if someone is taking the specific weather at any given location as evidence of some kind global process of climate change, they may or may not be correct. As non-climate scientists, we don't know. That doesn't change the fact that the world community of climate scientists are about as certain as they can be that global warming is taking place, however, and that the changes will bring a lot of unpredictable climate effects.
