I have a secured KB Credit card that took me 8 months of trying to get, my contract expires at the beginning of June, and KB is cancelling my card at the end of April for some reason, they said "because you are leaving at end of May, so last complete month, must be card expiration date."

I responded by saying that I have a secured cad, and there was no way possible for me to go over my deposit, as I put down 1.1 million, and my limit is 1.0 million. They said I must reapply and renew my deposit after I renew my visa. By the same logic, they should close my bank account as well every year, and make me re-open one.

Do any of you long termers have to go through this hassle of re-submitting all the forms and deposits each year? I'm particularly curious regarding SECURED card holders? Something tells me now is time to switch to KEB.

Nope: I have a charge and credit card from Shinhan, both valid till 2011. They are issued for 5 years in my case.

I got a secured KB card last year. I'm on a 1 year E2 visa, the card expires in 2011.
One of the major banking problems here is the rules are so arbitrary.

My first BC card was valid for one year, and my renewed card is good until 2012. You must be getting the waegook treatment royally.

If the way the OP addresses people in real life in the same way he addresses people here, that should be no surprise.

I have a secure Woori Bank Visa card and have never experienced that situation. I have also had my work visa expire and left the country for 5 months and they never blinked.

I also have an unsecured Samsung card and never had that situation either.

It took 7 days from application to card delivery for my Woori card and 30 days from application to delivery for my Samsung card.

Both cards are international and work fine abroad.
I am a teacher on an E2 visa.

One caveat however, I do work in a public school and NOT a hakwon.

I'm at KEB, and while it's not a secured card, I've already changed jobs without having to re-submit my docs, nor did I have my card cancelled or expired with extreme prejudice. And even though my new job has my salary deposited into a different Bank, KEB didn't insist on changing it back to direct-deposit into my KEB account.

You edited afterwards to show the board the depth of your loving character.

How kind.

jejujitsu, don't be such a dlckhead (and you know I am mostly kind to people). You asked an open question, wangja took the time to answer you - he did not write anything contrary to other people, why are you so hostile against him?

He is not an English teacher, he is older than most of us, he just doesn't suffer fools lightly. If you've been slighted by him on occasion, I am sure there was a very good reason for it....
