Fighting child pornography shouldn't even need that. While obviously there are a minority of people who would disagree with me, I take heart in the fact that my intelligence is vastly superior to theirs in saying child pornography is just wrong and you should just know that without having to be told (now there is a run on sentence if I have ever seen one).

I've lit candles before, but didn't realise they were somehow fighting child pornography.

How exactly would lighting candles make a difference? Can I just burn matches instead?

How about bringing back the death penalty for the creators of child porn and brothel owners?

And for the consumers of such stuff....um.....castration sounds like a fitting punishment.

The website should read "Light a candle: $1 each. Proceeds will go to child pornography task forces. We accept Paypal."

Maybe you can burn some of the child molesters alive if you have enough of them?

Light a candle, stop child pornography. Send some dying kid a get well soon card(buts hes dying!). Why is the off topic forum stating to look like my junk mail. Any nigerians out there with fabulous money making opportunities? I'm all ears. Literally. Squeeze a novelty ear at www.squeezeanearandstopearrelatedsexualharrassment.com. Together we can stop this!

Light a candle? Nothing better to do?
I have a better idea. How about devote some real effort to identifying the victims, and the locations where their pictures are taken. There have been some real gains made in the technology and practise of identifying where victims are abused. For example, there is an outfit in the US somewhere that keeps databases of things like curtains, carpets, sheets and blankets, and stock/mass produced prints (pictures). They use a recognition software that can scan a picture and then identify the fabric style. From there, vendors can be identified. In the case of a hotel or a motel, often the fabric is custom and can be identified. Great stuff, but they don't have the money nor the manpower to be effective on a large scale.
So after all that, how about a little instant justice?

I think that is better left to the police. I would hate to see a lot of wannabee heroes get involved in that sort of thing. Such causes usually attract the exact people it is meant to stop. Just look at that pervert american conservative congressman who was supposedly a champion of internet abuse, and turned out to be a pedophile republican bastard.

I sure hope his alcohol rehab cured him....

"I think that is better left to the police."

Yup, it is. The outfits I'm referring to are attached to police departments. I think they are headed by regular cops, but the researchers and investigators are civilians. I think it's a great idea, but it's also expensive.
So what do you think will happen to Foley? I'm gonna say, Nuthin'. Not a damn thing. He is disgraced, and it will just get washed away. Hopefully it will be brought back on the table at the next election. Then the republicans will have to do something (proceed with prosecution?) or they will be seen as soft on perverts.
