|
|
I just bought a new PC, and I'm running Windows XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 2.
I requested the OS in English, which is fine, but I can't use any Korean characters in email, chat, or any of the applications. I basically want my OS to run completely in English, with the ability to insert Hangul into any application.
I've searched MS.com for a fix, but can't seem to find a clear solution to my problem.
Any help out there?
Post or PM me, please.
Thanks

Control Panel ---> global settings (the world thingy) ---> look in the tabs there is one for installing East Asian languages.
Select that
Put your disk in
restart
Should be done. |

Yes, this, but also:
Start/control panel/regional and language options/advanced/set language for non-unicode programs to Korean.
This will take care of any remaining bits that won't display Korean properly, but you may have to switch back from time to time when you install new programs because they will default to Korean if it is available. |

Okay...I can now read Korean characters on the net, chatting, etc.
However, I can't seem to get my keyboard to switch to Korean characters. Searched all through the control panel for options to do this, but I keep coming up blank...
Help, anyone? |

If you have already tinkered with the Korean Global Input Editor on your control panel, there should be a set of new icons next to your clock near the bottom right corner of your screen (not with the running programs icons, but next to that.)
*There should be a little icon that says EN. Click on that and choose Korean.
*You should now see the following: KO, an Earth icon and a capital 'A'. Plug the keyboard in and click on the 'A' to toggle to Hangeul.
* If necessary, hit the toggle button on your keyboard on the right of the spacebar.
* Begin typing.
Hope this helps. |
