The Hindus are at it again.
Quote: |
HOLLYWOOD - Newlyweds Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar could face three years in jail after being accused of breaching Hindu customs with their Indian wedding last month.
Vishnu Khandelwal--who has never met the couple--has begun legal proceedings against the newly married pair insisting they broke with Hindu law. And he claims Arun's father, Vinod Nayar, has offered to testify against his son and daughter-in-law. |
Their crimes include:
ㅇ drinking before the ceremony
ㅇ publicly kissing
ㅇ Liz Hurley refused to remove her footwear
Let's pray to Vishnu that the West wakes up and keeps these pagan worshippers at bay. No drinking at weddings? No kissing? I'd rather have a 9/11 every day than live with that. Out, out damn dots! |

Soon, we will have anti-Western marches by "new vibrant citizens" in Western cities! "Behead those who kiss in public in India!" the signs will say. Hollywood execs will be killed all over the world as retributions. The left in the West will smile with glee that the brown folks are finally standing up to the 'imperialist yankee dogs' who culturally invade brown nations and sell them bad comedy movies. The hindu "youths" in Paris will riot for 399 days and burn 10,000 cars and 200 schools. The cast of Saturday Night Live will go into hiding. The UN, EU and douchbage left-wingers the world over will loudly advocate for a decrease in public-kissing freedoms so as not to offend the "moderate hindus" and further radicalize them in Vancouver. Taxi drivers in Winnipeg will stop driving people who have beef, be it in frozen or cooked hamburger form. My family farm in Alberta (a cattle farm) will be tagged with anti-Western graffiti written in Hindi.
Get ready! |

In some way or another, every reactionary thread is an attempt at trolling.
Some posters, like BB, admit that they like to 'stir things up,' i.e. troll a little, but also will try to get into serious discussions. This is why Big Bird will sometimes put a provocative title on her threads.
In other cases, people will use satire and in some extreme cases actually become more obnoxious than the poster they intend to satirize. MOS' reactionary posts to SteveMcGarrett spring to mind.
In this case, we have someone employing sarcasm to make their point. It's not a reductio ad absurdum because the of the nature of the example. It's actually sarcastic because the very fact that an anecdote could provide any 'evidence,' here the evidence I guess is of the intolerance of Hinduism, is itself being mocked. The OP doesn't seem to believe that Hindus can be called intolerant based on one anecdote.
This is not the most blatant piece of trolling, but I think we could see that it will get a lot of responses that many outside the debate would deem less than productive. Unless of course I'm mistaken, and HuffDaddy really thinks Hindus are intolerant. |

I think it was fair for huff daddy to post this. It shows that there are a lot of intolerant Hindus. They are overreacting regarding some wedding. Why should they get their knickers all tied up over something like this. They may have behaved badly, but to go on about how Hindu values were insulted seems a bit much. |

They won't go to jail. All the huff and bother is mainly for show. But if you make the choice to marry in a ceremony for a particular religion then, good grief, respect their rules. I don't know about criminal but their behavior was certainly boorish. Hurley not removing her shoes was gravely insulting. I couldn't imagine doing such a thing (and I'm not Hindu). |

My own take on this is that the intention of Huffdaddy's post can only be understood with reference to BJWD's reply, which is in itself an interesting excursion into self-mockery (I hope). |

My reply was as (not) serious as the OP, but also as reflective of my real ideas as was the OP. Huff doesn't think muslims are unique in their intolerance. He is right. People are generally intolerant. But I believe islam is unique in its ability to create frothing mouthed violent responses to insults.
I seriously await the marches in Vancouver. But we all know they won't happen.
He actually beat me to the OP. |

It's only a matter of time, my friend. Their day-to-day effect may be less because the vast majority of Hindus are found in one country. But don't forget that that one country has nuclear weapons. The wrong person in charge could easily spark WWIII.

An Islam-obsessed world ignoring Indias Hindu extremism
By Khalid Hasan
WASHINGTON: Threat to human rights have been tied to Islam alone, while the disturbing political trends in India fueled by Hindu extremists and their allies in the BJP-led Indian government have largely been ignored, according to an analysis appearing in Washington Times Wednesday.
Paul Marshall, a senior fellow at Freedom Houses Centre for Religious Freedom who recently published a book on the rise of Hindu extremism in India, writes that a country once personified by Mahatma Gandhi is fast becoming known for religious hatred and violence. |
If you're worried about the soft peddling Islam gets from the media, you should be even more worried about their treatment of Hinduism. When was the last time the MSM looked at the RSS? Has it ever?

Quote: |
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS National Volunteers Corps) is a paramilitary, all-male political organization founded in the 1920s and dedicated to turning India into an exclusive Hindu nation based on Hindu strength and Hindu unity. RSS founders were strongly inspired by Fascist and Nazi ideas and the RSS was modeled on Fascist youth organizations. The RSS and its allies have been repeatedly named by judicial inquiries for their role in religiously-motivated violence over several decades. The RSS has been banned three times in India, twice for its role in fomenting religious hatred and serious anti-minority violence. M. K. Gandhis murderer was an RSS activist. |
First, India. Then, the World. Be afraid. Be very afraid. |

Sure, call me a racist or hinduaphobic and ignore my warnings. But when Canadian cities are awash with free range cattle, you'll be wishing you had listened to me. |

Intolerant Christians:
http://www.bethuneinstitute.org/documents/killers.html
Quote: |
KILLERS FOR GOD: THE PHINEAS PRIESTHOOD
David Lethbridge
Their existence was almost unknown until 1991. Unlike most white supremacist organizations, they operate largely in secret. They are devoted to the racist and anti-Semitic religion of Christian Identity. They believe that God, or Yahweh, to use the Old Testament name, created the white people in His own image. They believe that white people are the true Israelites. They believe that people of color were created inferior to white people. They believe that Jews were created by Satan. They believe that the Satanic Jews are taking over the government and are instituting a New World Order. They believe that they have been called by Yahweh to restore God's Law through assassination, bombing, and robbery. They are called the Phineas Priests. They consider themselves God's executioners for race traitors. |
Christians are certainly horrible people. |
