I've seen Jack Daniels in plenty of bars. The international pub at hotel international in Changwon has a huge selection of whiskeys, American bourbons, Candian Blends, and Scotches. They also have a variety of Cognacs. (and Guiness on tap).

Anyone of you ever tried those 8 or 13 oz bottles of whiskey (or is it brandy?) made from concentrate? It's like 6000won a bottle. I never had the courage to buy one.

Are you talking about Captain Q or the other one (I think it's called Napoleon or something like that)?

Stay AWAY from that stuff! It's like soju on steroids -worse hangover, worse stomachache, worse nightmares, worse everything. And it tastes like s#1t. I don't know what it is, but it's definitely not whiskey.

Alcohol is bad for you. You should stop drinking, you will enjoy life more.
Yes, it's a shame that drinking is all many people can find to do in a city as big as Seoul. Rolling Eyes If all I wanted to do was drink, I could go to a small hick town. Many people came to the other side of the world from small towns where there was nothing to do but drink, and they do the same thing in Seoul. Silly. Rolling Eyes

The funny thing is you will pay upwards of 150,000 won for a bottle of Jack Daniels, but in the states that stuff is like 30 bucks a bottle. Total rip-off. Rolling Eyes

It's great stuff, but it's not scotch.

That's a bourbon/rye whiskey.

I agree, but it's a more than decent substitute to Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, etc.

Napoleon Brandy.

I used to get a 200ml hip flask for about 2.000.A big bottle just seemed too.....soul destroying.

It's not the best, but, was a World Cup mainstay for me.

Went miss most of the football with trips for a slash if I stuck with beer

johny walker blue is definently a high priced item.. Someone mentioned lehproig (sp?) its supposedly a great single malt. I've tried it but I'm not old enough for scotch. That and whiskey just tastes to damn good. and $29 for crown isn't bad at all...actually that is amazing for on the economy I'm paying $23 for a litre on post.

has anyone ever had Lancelot? Im curious I heard it was made by the same company that blends The Famous Grouse and distills Macallan and Highland Park. So maybe its good?

Yeah what princess says about Jack is so true. Here it runs 30-40 for something that 15-20 back home. And even back home thats is too much for Jack (which is not bourbon BTW).

That's why it says TENNESSEE whiskey on the bottle.

Hmmmm, I thought Bourbon was only made in Kentucky. Crown is a Canadian whiskey, which is very much like scotch in my book.

Where are you shopping? Everywhere I've been it's about 40-50 for a liter, which isn't great, but not bad.
