|
|
I apologize if a similar thread has been introduced before; however, I can never seem to get the search to adequately do exactly that. So.....
I finally (after a year and one-half) have gotten permission to have my girls' high school students come to a separate "English" class (akin to them traveling for computer or science classes). I am between Daegu and Masan and wonder if anyone knows of a shop where good resources might be found for the room. I am thinking of a large English map, flags of countries where English is taught from elementary school level onwards, signs, etc. Many things I can make myself; however, I am sure the school will also want to view the room as a "showcase" room to lure students to the school. Ergo, the more professional the better (I have written to most of the English speaking consulates, embassies and high commissions for extra stuff, but rather doubt I can expect much from them.).
Also if anyone has any good suggestions for the room, I am open to ideas. I think one corner with a counter (for practicing various skill modules would be good, e.g., reserving, purchasing) as well as using larger tables rather than individual desks. Another corner could be a resource English book library (with used novels, comic books, etc -- any stores like that in Gyeongsangnam-do?). The art teacher has already donated a life-sized female mannequin which should come in handy also.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions as to classroom layout or school supply shops. |

I ordered books and comics.
Not sure what else to do. I think some student teachers are sorting that out for me. |

The English zone at my middle school has a big plasma screen at the front for watching movies, using Google Earth etc. There's a couple of computers and a scanner, along with numerous textbooks, reading books and magazines, and audio equipment. |

Hi, what comics did you order? Have you managed to get any of your students interested in them? |
