Does anyone have (un)employment insurance deducted from their payslips? I was wondering what it was, since I am paying for it. Is it mandatory? |

If you have E-2 visa you are not required to pay unemployment insurance because your job is tied to your E-2 visa. No work, no visa, thus, you'll never see your unemployment benefit if you're out of job. |

IF you are on an E1/E2/E7 you are exempt.
IF you are on an F-series visa you get to pay. |

The others are right.
I'm on an F2 visa. The first month after switching from my E2 to the F2 visa I started getting charged employment insurance. It came to just under 11,000 won per month for me. |

Does that mean if one is on a F series Visa and is paying Employment Insurance, one can collect Employment Insurance at a later date? |

I suppose so. Only if you were fired, laid-off, or hagwon went out of business. |
