Spring storms come every year. Get a freaking clue, eh? The proof of anything you care to name comes rarely in the form of one piece of information. You don't know this? You didn't graduate 5th grade? The evidence is in the totality. It's the patterns globally. Get it?
One of the four scientists in your little propaganda video admits GW is real and will not stop any time soon. He just doesn't see it as being as serious as most do.
I should also point out Baliunas is not an Earth scientist and has done no research herself. This is typical of the anti-GW crowd. Few of them seem to have actually done research. |

Unitl your side of the debate stops posting idiotic things each time there's an above-average hot day, my posts about cold days won't stop.

Suuuuure. And you have done massive amounts of global warming research, is that it? |

You're the GW equivalent of Joo. You post often, say nothing. Enlighten me: where are all these posts you mention about warm days?
Further, straw man, when and where did I show up in a video presented as an expert on global warming?
You're a waste. |

I'm wasting no more time on idiocy. If you want to ignore overwhelming evidence, do so. All it will mean is you and your's putting yourselves at greater risk than necessary either now or in the future.
Good luck with that. |

This is probably the last time I will ever comment on this topic, as it appears that certain posters are both closed minded and idiots.
But for those who are not, I would like to point out that one possible consequence of global warming could be a shift in the Gulf Stream, scientists say. The Gulf Stream is what keeps winter weather in the Northeast of the US, as well as Western Europe, relatively mild. Note "relatively," because they are already pretty chilly winters in Maine, etc. If the Gulf stream moves off the current track, they could get a lot colder, scientists fear.
In other words, a shift in global temperatures could result in a shift in weather flow patterns, as well temperature and the distribution of precipitation.
The result is that some areas could become substantially colder than they are now, some drier, others wetter. But that does not mean that the world as a whole would become colder. Other areas could become a lot hotter. Species migration would be disrupted, etc.
Some of these things are happening now, and I dare say that many of the predictions will come true in our lifetimes. In short, we are destroying our world, and will be around to witness it.
Temperatures worldwide have been rising steadily for more than a century. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been rising steadily for more than a century. These are scientific facts. I have seen the data.
If you don't want to look at the facts, if you want to rant and rave here, go right ahead. You will be talking to yourselves.
One more thing, I wonder how many of these nay-sayers are Americans? As in the land of the anti-Darwinists, the flat-earthers, the moon landing is fakers. I am an American, and I am ashamed of how stupid and ignorant some of my countrymen are. We may be considered among the "first world," but our education system is turning out minds not even worthy of the third world. |

"Vostok, Antarctica holds the world's record for coldest temperature: -129F (7/21/83)."
---a mere 23 years ago---
"Vostok station (Russian) NEW RECORD SET IN 1997!!! This is an unconfirmed report from Vostok Station during the winter of 1997. -91 C (-132 F) This is colder than Dry Ice! The "official"record is also from Vostok station on July 21, 1983 -89.2 C (-128.6 F)"

Most events weren't full, either. Many teams and athletes pulled out, preferring not to risk injury in the frigid weather. The only record to fall Saturday was the mark for the coldest April 7 in recorded Austin history. |

As far as I know, the U.S. is the only advanced nation where around half of the people still believe GW is a hoax. Thanks a fricking lot, Exxon and the Bush Cadre. Your lying and bull**** on this issue alone makes you worthy of jail and worse.
Regarding your comment on the thermohaline transfer: it's slowed 30% this century. Where, pray tell, is the tipping point?
Ostriches and neo-cons have a lot in common. |

wide fluctuations in freak weather patterns, extremes of hot and cold and wind and storms are all consistent with climate change |
a more idiotic post has never been made. |
*sigh*... the theory of global warming is not supported or undermined by the weather on any given day or week or indeed month, as there are regular fluctuations within and between seasons... the theory does suggest wide fluctuations of record-breaking variety, but any look at a snapshot isn't going to support or undermine the theory
both sides of the issue are silly with the evidence they attempt to marshall, but by this I don't mean all on each side, just the adherents who bark loudest in public forums |

The fluctuations and extremes of weather have worsened with global warming. What you're seeing is a lot of freak weather patterns.
Going on scientific records from ice cores etc, the cyclical pattern shows that the global climate should be cooling. Its not.
if you're seeing localised and temporary episodes of extreme cold, I'd put it down to the slowing of the ocean currents due to huge volumes of melting freshwater entering the system at the North pole. If this continues it could arrest the conveyor current altogether (its already slowed 30% in ecent decades)- and cause a mini ice age in the northern hemisphere because it stops delivering warm air to the north. The temperate zone would then literally fry.
Its going in the direction of "haywire'.
So jejujitsu, any comment on the unprecedented amount of carbon and methane being released by melting permafrost in Siberia? "it has no effect". right? |

I see. So if it gets really hot, it's global warming. And if it gets really cold, it's global warming.
My 4 year-old argues in a similar fashion.
The "Climate change" argument is simply what the global warming doofuses have had to call their movement due to growing evidence that we may in fact be heading towards global cooling. |

Its so obvious you haven't studied this, or even followed relevant news reports for at least the past 5 years.
Convincing you of climate change would take too much effort now....
I'll just let time and reality wake you up.
This illustrates a big part of the problem: westerners who have done most to cause climate change are simultaneously the ones still the most protected from its effects. its still not real to much of the first world yet: they can't quite believe it. |
