Literally - did it. On the platform railing that is standard in most public school playground areas. Left some kind of note and a small bag of "who knows what." Almost caused me to upsurp my lunch I had just finished.

I knew the suicide rate is high here; just never thought I would witness such a thing in a public school.
Shocked Shocked

Definitely a cultural aspect I could have done without! Crying or Very sad

Wouldn't it be "hanged"?

And who? Student? Teacher?

Sounds awful. Terrible thing to see.

USAGE NOTE: Hanged, as a past tense and a past participle of hang, is used in the sense of "to put to death by hanging." In the following example hung would be unacceptable to a majority of the Usage Panel: Frontier courts hanged many a prisoner after a summary trial. In all other senses of the word, hung is the preferred form as past tense and past participle.

So I am curious. Unless he did this last night did anyone cut him down and do some CPR, or just look at the poor f*in kid swing in the breeze?

Always sad to hear.. Did they bring in any counselors for the rest of the students?

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)

Usage note Hang has two forms for the past tense and past participle, hanged and hung. The historically older form hanged is now used exclusively in the sense of causing or putting to death: He was sentenced to be hanged by the neck until dead. In the sense of legal execution, hung is also quite common and is standard in all types of speech and writing except in legal documents. When legal execution is not meant, hung has become the more frequent form: The prisoner hung himself in his cell.

The person was a 27 year-old female. Not a teacher, parent. or student. A local person.
Picked a time when most students and teachers were at lunch.

Then why did you use "he" and "himself"??

She prolly had a bone to pick with the school. Did you get the afternoon off as a result? Or was it school as usual?
