I have a couple weekly meetings outside of work, and would like to have some input as to what text I should/could use, and where to buy that/those. My students are intermediate-level adults, with fairly good listening and speaking skills, but take toeic-style tests periodically at work for promotions, etc. Let me know if you need more information!

ps--We have been working on past participles and applying them to perfect tenses, but I'm having difficulties tying it all together for them!

It sounds like all they are interested in is studying for TOEIC. There are hundreds of different titles geared towards TOEIC study, and they are available in virtually any bookstore in Korea, with or without an English Langauage section.

I guess you're already aware of this, but I found it difficult to teach for a specific test, rather than general English, without resorting to these books and tapes. I hated using them though since it essentially reduced my role to the guy pressing play at the front of the class, and attempting to explain any percieved inconsistencies.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I do know about the test-specific texts. The tests they are given are similar to the TOEIC in that they contain listening comp, error recognition, etc.

We do A LOT of social conversation during our time, and I have tried to teach a specific grammar structure, and then work that into our social speaking, while also guiding them to that end. It has worked well, but they are now looking for more structure.

Anyone else have some extra-currics that gave them free-reign to choose the text? What text(s) have you chosen for your legal gigs (if given the opportunity?)

You might want to find a place (a uni close to you perhaps) that gives practice TOEIC tests and take one yourself. It will help you to figure out what would be best for the students that you're teaching.
