I am pondering the thought of starting an English webpage that is just for Korean sports (i.e. soccer, baseball, basketball, maybe even volleyball since it's so popular here) My question is, how many of you would actually be interested in an English Korean sports website? I mean, it would be stupid to invest time and money into something that has no demand for supply. Also, is there already a webpage out there that is dedicated to all the sports of Korea? Your input and replies are greatly appreciated.

I clicked, read it daily, but I wouldn't read it daily. Your options don't cover much. I like Korean sports and I am definitely interested in them when my teams are doing well. Right now, I am at 50% for doing well.

The ones named after major corporations. I have no idea what city they're in or who plays for them, but you know- they are named after major corporations. Does that narrow it down for you? Rolling Eyes

Beeing named after large corporations just makes me wanna holler for them even more! Rolling Eyes

I like Seongnam in soccer and Doosan in baseball. 1st place and last place respectively. Basketball I don't really care that much about because I just don't follow it enough. I pay attention to the hockey teams, but there are only two of them and they get dominated by the Japanese teams.

I know what angle you are getting at but i think the market is already covered...

People that start following the teams are usually the ones that stay for a while and these same people are the ones that can probably read Ok Korean as well..Hence the need for an english site becomes obselete as you mainly targetting long-termers anyway....

Korea Times does a good enough job of covering the sport and the K-League already has an indepth site at www.rokfootball.com plus www.bigsoccer.com has a pretty good forum as well for Korean football...

baseball i am not too sure but basketball it seems doesn't have enough following to warrent putting any effort into..

As i said a few of my friend and i follow korean sports but we can all read Korean well enough and would rather get more detialed information from that source than from a less-informed english site...

Sorry to be critical, just calling it how i see it....

this is a rebuilding year for our Bears, ajgeddes. Laughing don't worry....the Bears will be back next year. They need to get their defense straightened out as well as some pop back in the line-up.

From what I hear and read on Korea Times and other Korean sports English pages, the articles are crap. It is rare to see daily updated sports on the Korean Times webpage. And half of their stories are about some kind of IOC meeting about Korea or mountain climbing. I am thinking about doing a site that has sources all their own in each club of baseball, soccer and basketball. The site wouldn't just grab Daum or Naver articles and translate them. Most of those are just rumors anyway. I am talking to Sportal Korea right now about doing a site for them in English. As for ROKfootball and Bigsoccer, those are great forums, but aren't news pages. Well, ROKfootball has updates about once a week on stories.
