McCain is 70 years old. He's not hopelessly devoted to the war but he's also not going to give up while the going's good. If the tactics brought on with the troop surge fail, look for him to register his disapproval.

That Swedish Minister is a fool. It is just that kind of thinking that will undermine Western civilization in Europe. Most Muslim immigrants will never assimilate well. |

Ah, my mistake. I thought he was 80. I thought your boy Bill Maher said it the other day.
But the war... he still supports the war. If the surge fails and he advocates a different course, I will change my position on him being 'scary'. By the by, Reason Magazine has a great piece on him this month. It is worth checking out.
About the Swedish minister. I put the quote there as it is the single most honest thing I think I've heard a government minister say in my whole life. So much is admitted in it. |
