Apologies if a thread concerning this already exists.

Rather than trawl through all the vitriol in existing threads about how the Korean Media is dealing with the Shooting in Virginia - does anyone who can read Korean know what the general feeling is amongst Koreans over this incident...?

I personally, think a nutjob is a nutjob wherever he's froma fn they exist everywhere, no one should be using this to incite anti Korean hatred.

Anyone bringing up the fact that he was Korean having something to do with it - well then I'd have to reply that he spent his most formatativ e years growing up in the US where precedents have already been set for these kind of killings and guns are easilly available.

But I'm not wanting to do that really as mass killings happen in a lot of countries, not just the US. When it happens there is just seems to cause mroe attention for some reason.

Anyway, yeah - anyone able to summarise some of the ways the Korean media is dealing with this issue...?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to make the effort.

Cool

They're making it sound like all Koreans in the US are in danger of retaliation. Rolling Eyes Total BS.

Don't know much about the K-media (could care less, is perhaps more apt) but here at Dave's the mod's are trying their best to cover it up by simply deleting threads begun in response to it. They say they are editing them and will restore them but, we'll just have to see! Very Happy Laughing

They could just delete all of Kaizer's posts, ban him, and then put them back up.

Problem solved.

Just curious...why did you capitalize "IS" in the title of your post. I've been thinking about it for 3 minutes and there doesn't appear to be any reasonable explanation.

Thanks

Censorship is alive and well on this forum. No surprise there. It's more like Korea in the 1970's.

Totally, dude. The Korean media and many Koreans think everyone will react the way they do. Maybe the Virginia Army National Guard should roll out a tank and run over the president of a Korean student association. At least they might not be surprised by that. Rolling Eyes

Ignoring what Steve said.....

I happened to be watching the news...it's sad that many of the Korean-American students are bailing from Virginia Tech because they fear how they will be treated.
