Go to what the book, there's an ad for a phillipina who will not only clean but give you a manicure and pedicure. |

I currently use www.propachul.net... but have seriously been considering a change.
How much is everyone paying these days?
I currently pay 25,000 won for 3 hours of work... every Friday morning. Thus, about 100,000 per month.
What do others around central Seoul change? |

I don't know that website, and unfortunately I can't read Hangul. But it sounds like you are paying way too much for a cleaner!

Indeed. Both hubby and I work full time, and would rather spend our "us time" doing fun things rather than cleaning the floors or washing bed linens.
Besides, while (in honesty) he does more around the place than I do, as far as cooking and stuff (I work longer hours), I'm slightly picky when it comes to how things are done.
For couples, having good help can really be good for your relationship. We've actually given her two raises since she started because she's so good. I think she'll keep working hard if we continue to appreciate her... For example, the other day, hubby was grocery shopping near the OGari, and they had some good chickens. So he called and asked if she'd like a chicken. Who wouldn't like a chicken?
Other stuff, too.. When I got my 'sol lal' gift from the company (12 bottles of olive oil!) she seemed happy to take 3 off our hands... and we leave her cookies and stuff when we make them.
It's all worth it when we get home Thursday night, and even the soap dish in the bathroom is clean - all the caked-on soap scuzz is gone! I'd never in a million years bother to do that, but when I saw it, I smiled. She also re-folds the clothes in my drawers when they get too messy.
I love my cleaning lady. Too bad we're going to move and have to get a new one. |

Oh, I'm not a teacher. I was for a few years... gosh, I miss the short working hours. Even now, with my ~10 hour days (not counting my commute), my coworkers remind me that I can get away with that only because I'm "the foreigner". |
