Right.
I'm sick of the dinner/drinks/theater/norae bang/DVD bang/board game cafe/club, rinse and repeat. I'm interested in trying something else.
I would love to hear of some creative and fun dates you've been on, i.e. you have field tested. If nothing field tested comes to mind, try giving me ideas and I'll test them. |

Insa-dong has many interesting shops. The knife shop is a veritable museum.
There are small art galleries that artists rent for a week and display their work.
Even a museum dedicated to phalluses.
Palaces and historic sites are fun. Suwon's Hwaseong Fortress would be a full day trip, but very nice. |

That martial arts Stomp-like comedy thing that I can't remember the name of.
Bungee jumping.
Rodeo factory outlet (not Rodeo in Apkujung).
옛찻집 in Insadong. |

Local samgyopsal place + soju. Nearby motels.
Han river tour is nice and in the park after the tour you can do snacks + soju routine followed by a motel. |

What about a drunk excursion to a batting cage and table hockey? Should be good for a few laughs. Assuming you stay out of the way of the balls.
OH COME ON they don't hurt that much.
or, what about a mountain hike followed by a jimjilbang rinse and a nap together in a cubicle?
Or
what about having your friends over for some speed chess with multiple tables set up and people switching seats and somebody making martinis?
or
what about making breakfast for her and another couple at your place (like a double date)?
or
what about feeding animals at a farm?
or
what about volunteering at an orphanage together 1-4 times a month?
or
what about buying a bunch of underwear and modeling for each other one night?
or
what about playing instruments for her, or she for you, over tea? Do you play the guitar?
or
what about starting an evolving naughty sexy story series, and then meeting each other occasionally to act out a particularly intriguing chapter the two of you have written?
or
what about going to a spiritual service that is meaningful for both of you, or something suitably neutral (in the case of differing opinions) like a Buddhist templestay?
Oops, gotta run to class. That's just off the top of my head. Good luck! |

The orphanage in Seoul requested no more foreign volunteers, seeing as we all have AIDS and are pedophiles.
Also, volunteering now requires registration and money.
Just sayin.... |

Don't have much to contribute to this thread but I can help you out here a bit. If you go to the Starbucks in Hongdae (the one nearest the Subway exit by the KFC), head to the Ho Bar that's on the same street (opposite side of the street from Starbucks) and right next to it is a game board bahng. I really can't remember if the sign is in English or Korean, but I'm guessing the Korean would look like this: 보드 게임 방. |

| Is there a baseball team in Seoul? You don't have to love to Baseball to enjoy sitting outside on a nice day and drinking beer. |

Oh for Christ's sake, the orphanages out here in the boonies can't get enough of foreigners! More and more I get the impression that living in Korea is going to be about living outside of Gyeonggi province. More perks incentives to stay, more fresh air, more country road bike rides and the orphanages are grateful to have you.
To think I was considering moving back up.
Well I appreciate the wake-up call. But there's still lots of other fun stuff to do in Seoul. |

Picnic!
Buy some charcoal, set up a grill on any concrete surface, and wrap some veggies/meat/fish in foil packets. Roast away. You can even do bananas and chocolate in the foil for dessert!
Sandwiches and salads would also work nicely.
For the extra snazz factor, I bought an ice grinder and made margarita mix for cocktails al fresco. |

Why would you do all this trouble when across the street you can see a grill place where you can sit on barells (not fancy upscale one) and do not have to go through all this trouble?
I suggest you go for some short trip with her like Eulwangri beach in Incheon (airport bus goes there). You can have lots of jogegui & motels are nearby Tons of couples there...(or should I say - only couples go there). |
