OK I finished defending myself over the nerd thing.

Yeah I have two rules as well that I learnt from working at Dominos Pizza.

1: Dont date jail-bait
2: Dont touch anything you work with.

However this Korean teacher at this school was kinda interesting and different from the others. I had entertained thoughts but my golden rules clicking over in my head. Anyway I found out she is getting married soon, so I thought well all for the best really. I then decided to post something on here to hear some horror stories to reassure myself.

I half agree witht he philosophy on not dating your co-workers...however,
If you like someone you might as well ask them out and see what happens. If the pooh hits the fan, so what. Just move on in your life and whatever will be, will be. Too much caution on this board.
For the record I dated one when i got here and din't work out(but we were both adults and are still friends and work together today) and I also dated another one after she left my work place. Bingo, we are together 18 months later and it is great.
Just take the risk sometimes. It may pay off.

Just try to convince your boss to give you a release letter when she inevitably sabotages your standing at work, and it becomes a hell for you to go to work.

Yeah, well, on the other hand, I met the woman that ended up becoming The Lucky Mrs BTM when she was teaching Japanese at my first hagwon.

So there.

Intra-office nookie can be fun and rewarding!

Exactly- without knowing the particulars of any given relationship [e.g. the people involved, etc.], it's hard to make sort of well-reasoned and useful reply, and for that reason the op struck me as a bit silly. Don't date your co-workers is a pretty good general rule, but sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

Some might have thought that my first reply was a joke, and in a way it was but I first met Mrs. Bulsajo when she was a student at the hagwon where I taught (adult hagwon, dammit- ADULT!).
